As great as Sidewinder will be, I think an insane amount of action is going to be going on over in GTA for the forseeable future once it hits. The multiplayer sounds like it has heaps of variety to keep it interesting, there's essentially 4 man coop and 16 man free roam. We gonna get our mans all pimped out in custom outfits and roll in our coupes and paint the town red. True urban combat at last. Everything I wanted out of Halo, COD almost nailed it but so still too limited- this will be true improv warfare on a grand scale. Turrism. Inventing gametypes n shit.

Yeah I can stand them for the single player portion but the nonlinearity eventually drives me mad because of all the choices overwhelm the completionist in me and I just end up having my guy sit in a car so I can listen to the hilarious radio dialogue while I surf the web

I played 2 swat games with ezekiel after the party broke up. 1st match proves that P2P hosting has GOT TO GO. and that some people are complete and utter asshats. The second match proved that MVP still goes to zeke even though I had +11 and he had +10 in swat.
I still don't understand it. But eh, We both at 15 kills. And the other two randoms picked up the rest.
Honestly, Halo 3 SWAT isn't as fun as I thought it would be. I guess I relied too much on Halo 2's autoaim, especially with the BR.
Bungie should have really dug into their options with it. Have non-regen shields to simulate body armor. Invincibility when respawning to prevent spawncamping. I just wish they'd use the fucking options they put in once in a great while, instead of letting them go to waste.

I don't know if you've played Mass Effect but during release, a guy got it early and he posted it about it on the official forums and here. He was very quickly banned (at the official forums) but once the community liaisons found out what was going on and realized he did nothing wrong, they unbanned him and apologized.
If this happened with Halo 3 and Bungie? BAANN-HAMMER with no remorse. It would be forgotten and all the Bungietards would mindlessly follow on.
I also like how they couldn't just extend the time for 1 Flag on Containment, instead sticking us with (at the time) 3 minute rounds. on Containment. You wasted a minute and a half walking across to the other base if you didn't get in a vehicle.
Or near the end of H2's run, removing Relic completely from Team Skirmish. Uhhh.. what? Relic was made for 1 Flag CTF! I swear sometimes.

Play testing doesn't mean anything to them. It's the fact that one guy has the last word on what goes in and what goes out has got us BTB with BR starts in everything making it a boring pile of blech.
I mean this wasn't bad when they had somebody not Shiska and competent, but damn Shiska wears his fucking opinions on his sleeve and should be removed from the duty ASAP.
Strange how my fondest memories of Halo multiplayer, as Im sure are shared by a lot of other people, are of 16 player lans on the original game. And now Halo 3 multiplayer is trying to avoid that. They admit 'they need more btb maps' with the announcement of Avalanche or whatever but then proceed to make btb the playlist so unfun that noone will ever play it.

I would disagree. They are distancing themselves from the average userbase and trying to be close to the MLG userbase. Once they start pandering to them then the rest of the game suffers. Which it has. BR start. No creativity in gametypes/map placement. I still personally hate the default foundry after what I've seen can be done with it.
Also, I would believe we are in the top 10% percent of halo 3 players because we can actually use grammar unlike the bungie.net forums. Also we actually *think* about cool things to see/do. Like Badman getting killed with a plasma grenade in the most weirdest way possible (pinata map incident)

On any level except Epitaph and Guardian, BR start games are the best way to play. If I am playing on a huge level where your primary weapon needs to be a battle rifle, I might as well start with one. Otherwise, the BR almost becomes a power weapon in its own right. Halo 3 maps are not conducive for AR starts in all but the two aforementioned cases.
The more I hear bitching about the Battle Rifle, the more I begin to suspect it is because the people bitching can't beat someone else with a BR in a straight fight.
The thing I find cute is that all the people who bitch about MLG and BR starts don't realize that MLG kids hate matchmaking. If you spend 2 minutes in any MLG room, it is all about custom games.

I don't care if it makes it "uncertain" when the other team has BRs. Why the fuck did you let an entire team collect all 8 BRs on Valhalla? Seeing as how 3 of them are in your base and two of them are near center, maybe you fucking suck.
I don't care if there's skill, because there isn't. You don't need to even shoot their head until the 4th shot. Until then body shots are fine.
BRs take away most if not all melee and reduces grenade play. What you end up with is some retarded strafe dancing around each other, trying to land the last shot that the host will give you.
BRs sound boring and play boring, they don't fare well against ANY vehicles except for the turret in a wraith, and these huge BTB maps are now so fucking small that objectives are rediculously hard to play since xxCOCKMONSTERxx's guest can shoot you while holding the bomb because they spawned halfway across the map from you. Teams aren't penalized as much for all coming out to the center on most maps since they can just FUCKING SHOOT YOU from the center all the way over on bubble shield.
The faster people realize Halo is not a skill based game and just realize it's a fun game and chat tool, maybe we'll get somewhere. But as long as people keep try to turn it into fucking Counterstrike or Quake or whatever game is so far up on it's high horse with a dildo up it's ass stroking off it's dick while singing "Train Kept a Rollin" it's just going to continue to lose more and more people to CoD4, which while not as fun to play in at least can't have a weapon discussion SINCE YOU FUCKING LEVEL UP WITH THEM. People didn't have fun in Goldeneye and Perfect Dark because of it's weapon starts or skill based play (How many times did people even make it have you start with weapons?), they played it because it was a good time, had great gameplay, and everyone wasn't busy worrying about some record that nobody is going to give a shit about in 6 years because If You Die In The Game You Die In Real Life.

Some of you may remember a gametype in Halo 2 MM called Team Rifles on Ascension. Except they left the banshee on.
People post on forums. "Hey Bungie. Nice gametype. But could you remove the banshee? It's near impossible to kill with BRs."
Bungie: No response.
a few weeks later, they finally fix it by removing the gametype completely.
