unfortunately the timing is awful for any sort of bipartisan bill to be passed with any sort of celerity

this could very easily lead to a depression, but not the "hell in a handbasket" everyone that is screaming like a lunatic seems to think it will be

it's gonna be real bad, but a bailout will lead to far more problems in the long-run

Well yeah, its not going to be as bad as the Great Depression, first off, No Dustbowl means we still have food.

But were pretty fucked here. And my "Old School" ways comment was pretaining to war and revolt. As in someone should be shot for this thing.

Honestly, am I the only one who feel like our "leaders" and politicians have gone for WAY to long without having to answer to ANYONE. Whats the worst that happens if they fuck up? We suffer, not them, they have millions and billions of dollars to spend on stupid bs and what can we do about it?

Protest I guess.....but if anything gets to big or out of hand they call the SWAT and army in and we get hosed, and gassed and arrested, while they spend out cash on this shit.

Mayhaps I'm just undeducated on the whole situation, but honestly it seems like almost every news outlet is confused or has no idea whats really going on.

Currently, no one has any idea what's going on. Even economists can't agree on what's going on and what to do about it.

I remember when I use to work for Sallie Mae as a debt collector. Oh god what a fun job that was. Some people only owed us like $50 and were behind on their payments or owed a few hundred dollars. But a lot of them? Yeah I loved the guy who owed $300,000 and told me after I tracked him down that he wasn't going to pay a dime and there was nothing we could do because he was a citizen of India and was leaving the country with his brand new degree tomorrow.

Or the guy who didn't speak a WORD of english (he spoke spanish) and after we trasfered the call to our Forign Language Department it turned out he owed over 500,000 in loans via various companies.

Not to mention all the people with tons of cash out who just went to school and never bothered to get a degree, or got it in some BS major they can't get a descent job in.

I think Pip is the only person here that kinda knows about economic history and market workings.

The solution to the huge credit mess that people caused because they wanted free shit? Let the markets find a floor and bottom out. This kinda shit is natural, you've gotta let this stuff organically stabilize or we create another bubble.

Just like Greenspan created this housing bubble trying to keep the technology bubble from bursting.
