All consoles can play regionfree discs. Publishers can however decide to region encode them, and some 95% do. The consoles are still regionbased for this.

Notable exception is the DS, the only regional thing about that is it's power adapter. All DS games will play on all DS's in the world.

Some 95% don't on the PS3, though. I've only heard of one region locked PS3 game ever, which was oddly enough Guitar Hero 3.

So with Wrestlemania coming up soon, here is a pair of questions I've been pondering...

Who is the best wrestler never to hold the WWE/F heavyweight championship?

Who is the best wrestler never to hold any WWF/E championship?

For me, the first answer is Mr. Perfect. He was just so...perfect. He had charisma, he had skill. He had it all. He could have helped carry that company in the early 90s if it wasn't for the Hulk-stir. Close runner ups are Piper, Owen Hart and Tito Santana.

The second answer is, far and away, Junkyard Dog. I mentioned this once before and it's still true. If you watch the stuff from the mid-late 80s, JYD has a charisma and a personality about him that only Hogan topped. It's so clearly evident at WM1 too, and it's a damn shame he didn't win the IC title that night. I can't even think of a runner up right now because with the change of the 90s of many rapid title changes, many many guys held belts.

I think Wrestlemania will be very strong workrate wise, but it just doesnt feel epic enough. The only match that really feels special is Taker vs. Michaels and thats it. Orton vs HHH is close, thanks largely to Orton amd specially this week's Raw but we seen that match up plenty of times.

They really dropped the ball with the Hardys though. Matt should have gotten a new look and the program should have been pushed more to the forefront but instead it feels like yet another midcard feud.

First one is, for my money, Ted DiBiase. Hennig was good but DiBiase was money. He should have had a long stint as World Champ with strong faces like Savage and Hogan making runs at him. There's Piper, of course, and for best in-ring wrestler there's also Ricky Steamboat.

As for never held any, Jake Roberts. Yes, yes, he turned into a joke later on, but when he was feuding with Randy Savage, he had the mic skills and the ring skills to do a lot better than he did.

It should be fairly simple to download the game off of the Japanese PSN/XBL. You'll have to import a Japanese MS Points card/PSN card though, American points won't work. Then you just make a Japanese account to download the game. I have no idea if you can play the game online with a US Live account though.

EDIT: Didn't see all of the discussion in the G&T thread.

Though maybe it's to get hyped up for WM, but I been playing a lot of the latest Smackdown game and having some fun with it.

I love that they have Orton's off the turnbuckle RKO, the one where he catches his opponent in midair with it.

The only match I am really excited for is the Taker v. Michaels match. Its very interesting to see the Promo segment they did Monday night. I don't think I've ever seen them have Michaels do a mind game like that. Granted, I never really watched WWF/E that much before around '02 or so, but is it bad that I'm giddy how pissed off Undertaker looks? Bringing back an angry ruthless "I'm going to hurt you" undertaker would make me all kinds of happy.

While I am not excited really for either of the title matches, I think Orton vs. HHH should atlest be a good match, quite possibly a very brutal match. Cena v. Big Show v. Edge, all I can say is ugh. The winner wins vickie's love? The only good thing about this is that I love seeing Cena be a smartass, because I think he can do that quite well.

I was almost excited for the 25 diva battle royal, until Santino lost the match w/ Mickie James and will not have his chance to become Mrs. Wrestlemania.

MITB might be decent, but it won't have the spots and spectacles of previous years as I doubt half of the people in the match can do much with a ladder that well. Hell, I won't be surprised if Mark Henry just tries to eat a ladder.

Matt v. Jeff, this could really suck or be a really good match. I'm not excited for it, its just not worked up enough. As someone else said, its a mid card feud. Which is unfair as Matt has been near main event and in some big feuds, and jeff has been main eventing and in some big feuds. The reason I think this could be a really good match is because they're brothers, they've tagged and wrestled together for years and years, so they know each other pretty damn well. I'm really not sure whose going to win it, though I'm leaning more towards Jeff. Side note, I think Jeff is finally learning how to get face paint to work, what he had on Raw looked spiffy.

The tag team unification match actually disappoints me, but makes sense. They don't need two tag team titles if both teams are constantly bouncing around shows like a lot of their wrestlers are. Though this does bring up the question of if they will be combining other titles, like the Diva and Women's championship, US and IC titles, and the WWE/Heavyweight championships. If Raw, SmackDown and ECW all turn into just one big promotion again instead of entirely seperate shows, then I don't see a reason for all the different titles.
Though on this match, not excited really. Carlito and Primo have been wrestling Miz and Morrison for like a month or so now, and the only thing coming out of it are those twins from smackdown becoming trophy girlfriends instead of divas.

Jericho vs Steamboat, Snuka and Piper... moving on...

JBL vs. Rey Mysterio for the IC title. Is this there out of left field match of the night? There is like no build up, no story, just all of a sudden "Oh hey, here's this match". Did I miss something or are they not even trying to build up this match? At least have Rey or someone point out that a few years ago Rey was the one that beat JBL which forced him to "quit". And really, is anyone else just sick of the Rey as the underdog schtick? When you win most of your matches against guys who are at least twice your size, you stop being an underdog.

Is the ECW title at WM? And are there any other matches I missed?

While definitely not the best wrestler never to hold WWE/Heavyweight gold in the WWE, I think Christian Cage still deserves some sort of a main event title shot/run. If nothing else, TNA proved he can do well in the main event scene and believably hold a title. Granted, TNA is very different in that not everyone is Mr. Bodybuilder, at least as bad as WWE. Just feels disapointing that He gets pushed to the top in one promotion, then goes back to the WWE and all they say is "Wow, he looks good for being on hiatus and out of action for the past few years".

I think Matt vs Jeff is going to end up surprising a bunch of people. Like Kurn said, both of them are familiar with each other, and more specifically, this type of match. Add the wrestlemania factor, and the fact that they probably want to go out there and prove whoever booked their storyline that they're worth more than that, and you have potential.

Jericho vs. Old men I'm curious about for two reasons. We know Snuka and Piper are to beat down to really do anything, but Steamboat hasn't wrestled since his last match, and still looks in pretty good shape. Another match that might surprise. But I'm more curious about the end. I really hope Jericho doesn't lose, cause that's just sad. I mean, I know everyone (including Rourke) are going to get involve, but I hope it happens after he makes someone tap out.

Vince hates him, so probably not gonna happen.

Best non-Fire Pro related rumour I heard all week, Vince is considering scrapping the Jericho v. Legends match. They're apparently still reaching out to past legends to get involved.

Now watch, as punishment they'll end up with Jericho v. Hogan and Jericho has to job to the legdrop.

The fucking pay off to that story line should have been Jericho vs. Austin at WM. Everyone fucking knows this should be what's happening with the HoF induction coming up. But apparently Austin's neck is still too fucked up for him to even do one match.

Is that the wwe's fault or the audience's fault? Because the WWE never once even hinted at Austin being who Jericho faced off against. This is one of the few times when they didn't pull their bait and switch crap.

It was just everyone saying "oh man, it's gonna be Austin". So of course, when it isn't Austin, everyone blames the WWE.

I do think the WWE should have cut their losses the moment Rourke declined.

Well, the pay off was going to be Jericho vs Rourke, but...yeah. Probably went from there to Austin, who can't due to a bad neck. Then they probably went to Hogan, but he just had back surgery, so that was out. And now this. Yay.

There's still one week of RAW, though...so...anything could happen.

Well, someone confirmed that they booked Austin for two shows(something in Feb and last week on 3/16), but that never happened. And then he showed up in a Wrestlemania graphic in his wrestling gear with all the other wrestlers(no other legends at all), only to be taken off the week after.

Seems like they were going ahead with it, but then he got confirmation that he probably shouldn't do a full match and just had to back out of it.

I figure there's a chance...just a chance, mind you...that Austin will get involved in the match as a run-in. And, yes, when that glass breaks, the crowd will pop like a nuclear explosion.

I highly doubt that Austin can do much more then come in, hit a stunner, drink some beer, do some mic work, and the leave. Is anyone else putting "What" at each comma in that last sentence? I know that at least for awhile both his knees were just horrible, dunno if he got surgery for em or not. I think a good surprise would be the Rock, though I think he's trying to seperate himself from his wrestling persona and another Wm match would not help that.

There have been rumors off and on of Bret Hart trying to make a come back, although I don't know how valid any of those are. I think something like Bret Hart coming back at WM would be awesome.

Although if they do scrap the Jericho v. Oldies angle, it will bring up an important point. How often does the WWE actually change a card once its been announced? This is one of the reasons I never liked no way out, as the WM main event card is usually filled half the time, so the title matches at No Way Out are just meh to me.

To be honest though, shouldn't the whole Jericho thing turn into Jericho vs. Legacy? I would think they would bump head with this at some point.

Funny thing is, No Way Out often does have some major developments happen at it. Heck, this year, both world titles changed hands. It's not uncommon for there to be a new world champ or #1 contender decided at NWO. I think the brand split actually helped make the ppv a lot more important, since after the Rumble there's still contenders to be decided and Wrestlemania matches to be set up.

Ooh, god, that could've been cool actually. Instead of the HOFers of this year, have Jericho instead beat up Dibiase Sr. & Dusty Rhodes.

Well, nevermind. That'd probably make Priceless happy.

Why would Jericho fight them now? They both hate old people.

Yea, now that I think about it it is touch and go, depends on when they announce who the Royal Rumble winner is going after. Though it really is any time when a main event for a PPV is set up and then some kind of match comes along that might change it. That just annoys me as I almost rarely see them ever change it. You just go into the match almsot knowing the outcome, which ruins the match IMO.

Edit: He would face Legacy because they are pushing to build their momentum off of being 2nd-3rd generation superstars. Have Dusty rhodes and Ted Debiase Sr. come along and go after Jericho instead of Piper, Steamboat and Snooka and then turn it into a feud between Legacy and Jericho as Jericho is attempting to trash the Debiase and Rhodes legacy.

I don't know. I couldn't see them be able to do that. I don't know how Heel vs Heel works when there's not really anything on the line. Even then, it's hard when there's a title involved. Someone always comes out of it as a face. And if it was 2 on 1, Jericho kinda would, but then he wouldn't because he'd still have instigated it by attacking old people. And then you have the face dads with the heel son's. Their son's coming to help them would either make them heel or their son's face. I could go on, but my brain hurts from wrestling logic.

I still say the best solution is to pair up Jericho with Legacy and have them go against Sim Snuka (obvious), DH Smith (since Piper is related to the Harts) and then either Reid Flair or Ricky Steamboat Jr. Reid is supposedly not bad, although green as hell, and Steamboat Jr. is constantly referred to by JR as a "can't miss prospect".

With WMXXV next Sunday and the prospect of a seeming generic and lack luster card, I find myself less and less interested in spending $50+ on a PPV that might only half-deliver and seeking other potential viewing options, possibly even a WM viewing party for interested folks here in Seattle.

Still, it is WM25 and super card or not, it will probably be the
only PPV I order this year with any sort of guarantee. MITB and HBK vs Taker are the only matches that really stand out to me as must see. HHH
vs Orton is going to be a great match, but I have my reservations only because HHH vs Orton has been done a few times before; they'll have to raise the bar with this one. What will about the Jericho V Legends match? I can't think of anything, moving on.

One of these days, I wish they'd broadcast the whole HoF induction
ceremony, or at least much larger potions of it. The five minute snippets of clips that they show for an hour a 11:30 at night just don't seem worth the time. I'd rather watch the whole thing.

Well, cage matches are usually used in a storyline if there's a storyline possibility that the match will be run in on. (And it will be run in on anyway even if there is a cage :P )

Since apparently none of HHH's friends feel like running out to save him, storyline-wise it isn't needed.

I just read a post on RSPW that said Jimmy Hart has a new televised wrestling program coming out this fall!

    Then I watched the preview.

    Wrestlelicious

While this makes parts of me happy, the parts of me that like good wrestling and don't like stupid bimbos are sad. This looks like another WoW. Although according to what I read, Lacey Von Erich, and a bunch of the SHIMMER girls were involved in the first taping, so it might not completely suck. If this video is any indication, though, it will be godawful. But I'll still probably end up watching it more than once and feeling guilty for it.
