I don't know much about website design either, except Flash is the fucking devil. Sorry. :(

No, we are two of the techies. But we're not website developers. Honestly, most people who are computer savvy around here are probably pretty retarded when it comes to websites. Most of us are coders and shit.

VH, your cat looks kind of retarded.
Kakos, you are very quickly dropping on my "favorite forumers" list.

And Raiden, Widget is a "she".

To be fair, she isn't particularly bright.

Dude. Retarded isn't necessarily a bad thing. Your cat just looks like it has some serious down syndrome. Downies can be a lot of fun though!

I'm a techie, more on the coding side but I've had to help build websites as well. Good websites are hard to do, because a) browsers are finicky and differ in their interpretation of html and b) good public websites are accessible, which is a pain to do. It really depends on what you want your website to do and who it's for.

Yeah, I figured that. I know US salaries are higher than Northern Ireland, but I'm still badly underpaid: The average salary for my type of work should be closer to like £24000.

    Short answer: yes.

The biggest bitch is usually getting it to work on all browsers, as they all like to do things differently.

Also, flash is generally a bugger to work with, but the example on the amnesty site probably wouldn't be that hard to do, as it's not doing anything especially intricate.

    thought so. :( Thanks.

The marketing lady was pointing us to amnesty.org as an example of a nice site. Was just wondering what kind of volunteer we might have to attract to get quality work. I mean, I know enough guys who have made their own little websites, but we'd need a professional or settle for less here.
