Tarot reading revolves around the belief that the cards can be used to gain insight into the current and possible future situations of the subject (or querent), i.e. cartomancy. Some believe they are guided by a spiritual force, such as Gaia, while others believe the cards help them tap into a collective unconscious or their own creative, brainstorming subconscious. The divinatory meanings of the cards are derived mostly from the Kabbalah of Jewish mysticism and from Medieval Alchemy.
Tarot's pretty nifty. If you're into superstition and/or occultist methods of fortune telling, anyway.

I have this deck. Since I obviously don't have the time or patience to do full readings(re: the Celtic Cross), I'll draw a card for whoever's interested, and attempt(emphasis mine) to discern some sort of meaning from it towards your worldly existence.
Or something like that.
Failing that, just discuss tarot or mysticism in general.

You can use single cards to interpret the immediate future. A full reading paints a better picture is all.
