I don't think I'd be down for being a cyborg
for one, robot limbs wouldn't be that great while retaining an organic frame, and two it would just be a constant reminder that that one limb is so much better than the rest of me
nope, whole robot body at once or no deal
"better"
ain't no robot can compete with real human Lex Luthor muscle
what about basically every robot that isn't a toy one

Wouldn't speeding up/slowing down your perception of time just fuck you up immensely, though? I mean unless you had the reflexes to go along with slowed perception it seems like it would.

Can't you get the same effect much cheaper drinking cough syrup?

That's a guy's power in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Slows down your perception of time so every punch to the face takes about an hour.
I just want my penis to make train noises when I'm getting my bone on

Don't get me wrong
I love getting punched in the face
I only wish I had more time to contemplate how the fist will shatter the cartilage in my nose and meditate on all the the bad decisions that lead me to this moment

And great.
Now I'm thinking of Judge Dredd again.
Wouldn't mind getting an eye augmented. Nice HUD, some wifi, improved vision, maybe thermal mode?

Yeah, that could be fun. Painful, though.
how about enhanced clarity over distance, 20-20 night vision and a 50% reduction in blinking time?

Wouldn't it be far more efficient to give everybody night vision than it would be to set up a lighting system on every street and in every building? Not night-vision goggles I mean, but if eye augmentation was widespread and being able to see a greater light spectrum was feasible? I suppose it wouldn't be nearly as aesthetically pleasing and you still wouldn't be able to see in pitch darkness, but it could reduce the amount of light fixtures we need. Also I'm probably being dumb and overlooking some other glaringly obvious problem.

I assume the reflexes are given, like how a superhero with fire powers should also be immune to their own flames.
But even the reflexes don't come along with the accelerated perception, it'd still be useful. I will never again think of the perfect thing to say after the fact.

Civil liberties issues. Some people are going to want to stay meat and/or aren't going to be compatible with the tech. Require augs, you're getting your ass sued. And that's assuming the price is right.

Or augment my eyes. Take photos, record video, magnification, low-light, infrared, the whole shebang.
Or my brain? Onboard storage device. Maybe speed or slow down my perception of time?

Speaking in a hypothetical 'this is the far future and augmentations are more commonplace than mobile phones' sense.
