basically with the introduction of scenario mode leveling there is literally no need to group up unless you are actually having trouble clearing scenarios, which shouldn't happen unless you're playing crusader or soul bender (and even then those two probably can clear, they're just significantly slower than other classes). People might start grouping around Oceanic Express and upwards because that's when you might not actually be able to get to the next area from solo clearing scenarios and have to group with someone else for their delicious scenario xp. I know i've definitely seen scenario groups for Time Break and Power Station.
People will group for Ancients/Requiem/OV for sure as long as you're in the OV channel.
I'm at 67. Just hit oceanic express. Was just curious as to when more social stuff starts happening.
ah, yeah, then the answer is "Soon, kinda"
You can technically start doing otherverse at 70 but you will probably have trouble finding a party at that level.
it's not a bad idea to run it solo on easy starting at 70 though so you get a decent idea of what all the OV gimmicks are like and it doesn't cost any tokens if you mess up, either. you can also slowly get exorcism gear while you're at it.
though with the current rental event you should be able to get a few pieces here and there to bolster your exo before you even start.

Mirror Arad confirmed for next week on the 23rd, and looks like Shadow Dancer should make it in as well.
Looking forward to Shadow Dancer. The slasher smile in some of the artwork is fun. My sword master should be finishing ToDespair again right after all my free reinforcement and refine tickets expire.
I'll probably use my hell party tickets on Sunday. Hopefully I get something good.

Started my Shadow Dancer after over an hour of trying to come up with a name. Did my final OV run with the rented precise fire set on my Crimson Rose(I will miss this set so much). The launcher in my ov party already had the Arad Runner set from secret coin event.

i hit triple jackpot on bosses today, so i had 300+ coins to piss away on the fountain
it's actually really easy to get full arad runner sets when you have the coins to spare
I found it pretty fun - decent aoe, solid damage (although I was running with a +12 Phoenix Weapon the whole time so ymmv), and Assassination is one of the most satisfying skills to land
SD really wants to get back attacks for optimal damage though and interactions with her moves that put you behind an enemy can get....wonky when you're near the edge of a screen or up against bosses that are stationary.
A returning user buddying up with an active account or a new account buddying up with another new account gets the most bonuses, namely these two combinations of registerees immediately start off with 1000 points. Returning users also get some things automatically ( the selective chron box, 1k demon invites, a 150 million xp pill, 14 days of contracts). The chron box, 1k invites, and the contracts are supposedly the ones you can normally get from the event shop, only as a returning user you obtain them w/o having to pay the requisite amount of points for them (I have only heard this secondhand from people so I can't confirm the veracity of these claims). The 150 million xp pill is unique to returning users.
Registering a buddy, while it initially requires a specific character that must be online, is actually account-wide- once you register a buddy you will have that buddy for all your characters (and it will also tell you when your buddy is online/on another character). Once you register a buddy you don't actually have to play with them, although doing so will earn you points faster. You can obtain a set amount of points per day from burning fatigue (you obtain points from fatigue 2x as fast if partying with your buddy), doing quests, and doing OV. You also gain points for logging in daily, and the bonus starts at 20 and goes to 50. For the fp points you have to do optimal level dungeons etc.
The summer event title and pets you can get from the event shop are apparently nerfed from their original versions, so the title is not really worth getting unless you are a collector. The pet still might be worth it if you didn't get one the first time around.

Anton Normal dungeons are out for the sufficiently geared looking for a challenge; 86 cap and Anton/Castle of the Dead are out as well.
NPC Doppelganger packages ensure as always the focus of the game is Dressup Fighter Online.
Not buying any avatar packages this time. The anniversary event got all but like 1 of my characters a full advanced clone set, and I need to start saving for actual gear.

other than the avatars the package does also have a pretty good title + pet - the pets mainly give +10% crit damage, and the title is good if you know what element you are going to use and don't already have a previous package's title. the aura is also convenient for party teleportation.
The thief avatar is just so bad, or I'd probably be down for buying it. My other characters already have titles and all that. Since by thief is new I'm really keen on getting something but blarg. Such a boring pack.

DFO is now available on Steam i believe, but with no linking of old accounts to steam. So it doesn't really matter to anyone still keeping up with this thread unless you had a stable of friends who were like "i'd play it but it's not on steam" and you were willing to throw any progress you previously made away to make a new account, though.

Not sure at all what I want to play. I know the balance in games tends to be "play what you want/is fun to you" but eff that. What's a solid class to play (don't care if it's fixed or percentage) in both the physical and magical categories? I did note that P10 has Exorcist as being capable of both roles equally, and that sounds interesting.

when you say solid that really encompasses almost all of the classes, very few classes are gimped or "bad" in the game's current state so it's kind of hard to give a recommendation solely based on those parameters
i would say in my experience that Asura is a very good all-round, self-sufficient magic damage class that doesn't require a high amount of funding to solo most of the stuff in the game. is that the kind of class you're looking for?

gg endless eternities though, should mean people can afford to regularly run Ancients/EX Ancients
make a group and start inviting people, or join on others groups
no one uses the queue system
use the group maker/viable member identifier/chat spamming and you can find people from behemoth and on
I'll probably use my hell party tickets on Sunday. Hopefully I get something good.
looks more fun than kunoichi
looks like a lot of (good) free stuff

unfortunately with the leveling event probably still with a "create a new character" stipulation
also Anton normals and Castle of the Dead is supposedly coming in April, so it's likely 2 weeks from now on the 19th

I might.
Awakended costumes are worth it.
