I did a wormhole run last night and made ~60mil in about an hour. That is about as much as I made in total in my first month of exploring and planetary interaction. I did wormhole dives before but they've never paid out as well as that. Also didn't get much of anything the past few days.
Yay exploring!?
May I ask what kind of ship you used to clear out the sites? I went to W-space a few days ago and was promptly owned
I had a minmatar Probe. Cloaking, basic core launcher, microwarp, analyzers, stabilizers. I used d-scan looking for ships and scanner probes every 30 seconds. A few of the sites were a bad scene but I was lucky and fast.
I prefer wormhole diving. Low-sec is too populated with people trying to kill you and high-sec doesn't pay as well despite having tons of competition.
There is a lot of variation in the mission difficulty spectrum. A second week player can easily do some of them (Cargo Delivery, Recon, etc). Are you checking the mission guides?
i did the math and my character has about five months of skills, but unfortunately not a heavy concentration in one specific combat discipline (a heavy mix of caldari and minmatar ship piloting, some armor tank, and some projectile... and apparently all the standard rifter tackle stuff)

wow i went 30 jumps deep into nullsec and found two relic sites. maybe lowsec mining might be better/quicker/easier money?
That's really unlucky, wow. Maybe it was a heavily trafficked nullsec route?
Low-sec away from the FW, high-to-null pipes, and high level mission agents tend to be dead, and is a pretty good place to hit up for exploration sites.
Looking at this (semi)-random example, I can see a few exploration routes that cover a good portion of the white systems (least jumps per 24). Good luck getting out of there though :P
It just takes a bit of planning until you find a route or two that you like.
not familiar with dotlan but I'll take a look. I was horribly unlucky with relic site spawns but I did get pretty lucky with pirates.... no resistance on the way in, and only one gate camp on the way out that I managed to avoid.
I remembered what it was I was confused about with my skills. I don't have archeaology and hacking up to 5 yet, so the juiciest sites I'll end up fucking up anyway
So I'll wait for that to finish up before heading back

almost ready to join you guys. before i go i have a little money to burn and im going to take a few frigates into null alone and see if i can cause any trouble
going to stay in frigs/destroyers for a while until i can find reliable income
In a shocking non-shocker, PL have chosen TEST to be their next punchbag.
I hope TEST weren't dumb enough to take seriously all that "coalitions are an obselete concept, there's no need for them any more" shash that Elise was peddling.
Yeah that sums it up. I was gonna do a really cheeky write up but apparently now they're evaccing Cloud Ring because someone reffed half their systems, so they're not worth the effort.
I'll just leave you with this little gem, posted by Lex Arson when we first moved to Syndicate:

Turns out he kills Cloud Ring alliances even better.

Update: I just read the most hilarious "we didn't actually lose because we are much better than INIT" post on Tishu's forum. This is PEOPLE OF RISE class stuff. I'll link it as soon as it goes public.

Their excuses are pretty funny. After months of criticizing the Imperium for not having the numbers to match the MBC, their best excuse is that they didn't have the numbers to take on INIT alone. INIT's success is also a pretty solid condemnation of SMA's response to TISHU

Listening to tishu whine about batphones was pretty funny.
As for SMA, what I'll say is this: an alliance that doesn't take some risk will sooner or later - usually sooner - find itself unable to. This has been ordinary common sense in EVE since at least 2006, and yet alliance after alliance has fallen apart because they think they'll be that one exception.

Have you tried using Dotlan to plan your route?
For example:

No actually, I hope they were.
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better

A bit of POS-bashing going on, TEST is on full-alert though
Pl told TEST that they wanted to farm them for a while but still keep them on tap for coalition stuff.
That sounds like a bad deal for TEST.

Poorly.
They should have stuck with attacking the softest alliance in the game.
