P5 is on Tuesday. I am out of games today. I would like the comfort of a good Jurp to tide me over to Tuesday. Can anyone give me some nice recommendations? PC/PS4 preferable.

Yeah yeah, none of them meet your criteria. Lol.
Sakura Wars 5 is a PS2 release with a Wii Port. I know it doesn't meat your PC/PS4 criteria 'officially', but it's about a 1982 musical troupe that when not performing protects New York with their giant mechas with gameplay that's split visual-novel (with time-based choices where not choosing is also a choice) and mecha srpg battles that's silly and fun.
Valkyria Chronicles 3 is a fan-translated PSP game that Sega never localized. Best game in the series. Takes place at the same time as the first game, but follows the darker side of the war with a Penal unit doing all the dirty, underhanded, and suicide missions.
Front Mission 5 is a fan-translated PS2 game that Square never localized. Best game in the series. War, politics, manliness, best story in the series, and mecha srpg battles.
Yes, but um...I'm not going to be able to get the game if it's not digital in the time frame needed!

You listed a rare game for a console they didn't ask about, and two games you have to mod your console and import (that also aren't on the platforms they asked about) to answer the question "what can I play to hold me over till Tuesday?".

Bravo.
Phy always has weird recommendations like that. I'm used to it. Next he'll recommend some obscure korean drama or something.
You know, it's interesting. I really rarely replay games. I have so little interest in playing something where I know exactly what's going to happen. I've played SMRPG before, and therefore, I have little interest in doing the song and dance again. My usual exceptions to this rule are games that are incredibly game play focused, and then I'll replay them because it's fun.
The only RPG I've ever replayed in its entirety was Xenoblade when it got its 3ds port.

More serious recommendation for your criteria:
The Banner Saga games? If you're looking for something shorter and indy. PC or PS4.
Atelier Sophie if you wanna dip yourself into the long running fun alchemy series. It recently got an inexpensive Steam release so you can go PC or PS4.
Super Robot Wars V if you don't mind grabbing something from the Singapore PSN.
I have already played and completed Tales of Beseria and Nocturne. They are both super good.
Talk to me about the Ateliers. I played the um...third one? Atelier Iris.
Are any of them good in the combat sector, or is it all mediocre combat and stupidly intricate crafting?
Stupidly Intricate Crafting, fun lower-stakes lower-powered rpgs, comfy rpgs with lots of heart. Some entries are stronger in combat than others: Namely the Mana Khemia duology and the later two games (Escha & Logy and Shallie) in the Dusk Trilogy. Not that the combat is bad in the others, it's just better in those ones. Also, fantastic music and art.
The entire mainline franchises has 2-3 (mostly 3) game series set in the same world where characters from the previous games grow up and cameo and/or mentor the heroes and characters in the later games. Only Falcom games have more fun caryover between games that aren't explicitly direct sequels.
Iris 3 is actually the 8th Atelier game, but the third to get localized and the third in its mini-series.
The romance stuff, personally I wouldn't bother with it and most romance options in games are laughable anyways (Saints Row IV summed up how I feel about them perfectly), but that sucks for people who actually do like to play as "themselves" in a sense, even if the main character has a default name and somewhat set personality
But the gay characters just being used as comedy/gross-out humor? I really hope it's not too prevalent. The trans stuff in Yakuza turned me off of it super fucking quickly despite enjoying myself with it up to that point, and only now like a year later am I okay with telling myself "okay, I may give the series another shot." I really don't want that to happen with P5
I've pretty much resigned myself to living with the fact that the best I'm going to get in jrpgs is slightly hinted at or ambiguous maybe they could be maybe it is but it probably isn't.

This will be here until I receive an apology or Weedlordvegeta get any consequences for being a bully
I am probably going to make that Fashion RPG
It's so good, but I don't think it fits his console situation.
Hey, I did too!
It was ok, not as hopeless as I was lead to believe the endings were.
Sounds like someone needs to play Tales of Berseria
Game is around 40-60 hours long though, don't think you could beat it before P5 drops unless you go nuts and rush everything and/or don't sleep.

Yeah, it's available on a lot of platforms now.
I want to like it but the gameplay ends up going so slow (just... slow animations, turn based, etc.).

It doesn't stand for anything.
Generic Spoilers

Is one theory I've seen floating around.
fan theories can never be trusted!

Now that that's handled, let's get back to openly posting Nier Automata spoilers, or at best tagging them incorrectly.
