So I tried with all of the sales over the weekend to be good.
I ended up finally getting Super Mario Party, and also Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Machine, Shenmue III, Everspace, and upgraded Horizon to the complete edition.
I'm quite excited to finally have a new Mario Party to play with the family.
I have been interested in playing these and just got the first game for the PS4. I would grab them for the Switch in an instant if they released all three. From what I understand, they are hugely interconnected.

If you mean cold steel, then yes. All 4 games are direct sequels (4 isn't out in english yet).
They also reference, and are in the same world as Trails in the Sky and Trails of Azure and Trails of Zero (Azure/Zero are a duology in Crossbell, Sky is a trilogy in Leberel (I think)).
Sky takes place first, Crossbell happens during events of Cold Steel 1 and 2, and 3 takes place after all of the preexisting games.
3 also is the first attempt to actually tie them together by bringing people over and referencing events and characters very explicitly.
I enjoy the games quite a bit.

By first game I meant Trails of Cold Steel. I haven't ever played any of the earlier games.
So idk what's going on, it seemed pretty out of the blue, but my homebrewed switch's Local Adhoc seemed to have stopped working. I cant trade on pokemon. anyone have any ideas.
Man, Daemon X Machina gives you a lot of options in its character customizer (including a Saints Row-esque dedication to letting you use just about every possible option regardless of whether you're using the "Male" or "Female" gender option, including e.g. eye shadow, lipstick, and any of the available voice settings), for what I presume I'm never actually going to see outside of the base camp.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.

Our Switch, which is ostensibly a Christmas present for our kids, is being delivered this evening.
... I think we'll have to set it up, after the kids are in bed, just to make sure it works and all...

100% do this to get stuff set up and updated even if you are strong willed enough not to play anything. The update servers are always hammered Christmas Day from all the new units coming online.

I beat the main story in Super Mario Galaxy! Plenty more to do, of course, but I enjoyed it. Strangely enough, it's only second 3D Mario game I've completed, with the first being Galaxy. I've played almost all the others in some capacity. Mario 64 didn't hook me when it came out, and subsequent attempts always petered out. I kind of enjoyed Sunshine at first, but by the time I got to the level with the underside, I got a bit frustrated and quit. Galaxy 2 seemed cool, but I think I had other things going on at the time.
I can see myself doing more item collection stuff in Galaxy, though.

That's a really good point, thanks for that. Got my plans for the evening now!

I don’t know who’s going to have a harder time keeping a christmas secret: You with your Switch or me with taking my 5 yo to Disney World in January.

Maybe shouldn't homebrew
Homebrew tends to require messing with wireless stuff in some way to prevent the Switch from auto-updating itself and detecting the homebrew and getting you banned. Who knows, maybe Pokemon has some elements that would interact with that, maybe they included new checks of some sort on the legitimacy of your Switch.

I think it may actually be against the forum rules to post about hacked consoles, etc in a direct way.

See it worked fine for a while then I had an issue where my SD became corrupted because of micro SD reader I was using. So idk why.

I tried asking multiple mods but never got a response if we can even talk about it or not, so I just thought fuck it I'm having a hard time trying to fix it let me just ask.
I don't think I've ever regretted a decision as much as what I did in Luigi's Mansion 3.
Without even thinking I sucked up Morty without letting him finish editing his film. Just because I saw numbers over him I sucked him up without so much as a thought until I realized what I had done afterwards, then the autosave made my callousness mistake permanent. They even give you an achievement for it.
I picked up Rogue Legacy last night because I saw that it was on sale for $4. I've finished this game about 6 times on various platforms but it was so good I had to give them more money.
I've been playing Prison Architect (which is still on sale as far as I know).
Last time I played was 2015 just a few months before they went to version 1.0 I believe, one of their bigger updates, which added the complete story mode instead of just the first chapter.
The story is darker than I had remembered, it's like a crime drama movie, people getting shot, contrasting with the cute little pawns for all the characters. It's also pretty generic, and basically an extended tutorial for the game, but it's just what you need to learn it. Essentially it's...learn the basics while dealing with a death row inmate, learn more basics while a mobster family is in turmoil, deal with a tense hostage situation and learn about defense, riot cops and emergencies, rehabilitate mistreated prisoners while learning about caring for their needs and jobs, and then manage a prison on your own for a while as a final test.
It's really addictive to play though, I got through all that and immediately started in one of the sandbox modes. Literally, I picked an empty desert map to build on. It's like a perfect mix between the detailed building and layout and personalities of RimWorld and a more sim-like game like Theme Park or Theme Hospital.
The prison aspect is kind of inescapably dark but that's kind of the point I think...look at it as how bureaucracy deals with humans like a game like Papers, Please. In spite of that it's fun. You don't have to engage with the darker aspects, death row and executions are completely at your own discretion, and I'm avoiding it myself. I'm gonna rehabilitate these men, hold gen ed classes, host an alcoholic support group, build a parole office and get them out early. TVs in every cell! Mail room so they can get letters from home!
Switch Alien Isolation has better image quality than on PS4. Very visible in the video as he explains it. it runs at lower resolutions, but in spite of that uses much more modern AA techniques that make a huge difference.
If you guys are playing Pokemon but aren’t in the Pokethread (for some reason), the Gigantamax Snorlax is spawning now. His G-Max form is hilarious and awesome.
Starfox 2 is pretty cool. Just gave away the SNES mini's one exclusive.
DKC still conspiciously missing. You'd think they'd have at least the first game here by now and string out the sequels later. Hoping there isn't some IP crap with Rare.
Breath of Fire 2 is a really bad localization (not handled by Square like the first, but Capcom themselves before they were prepared to do it). However it is a really good RPG, miles ahead of the first one. Some cool elements like building up a town, some very deep buried secrets in the game including missable major party member redesigns/transformations and an alternate ending.
Journey to Silius has one of the best soundtracks on the NES. That game was originally going to be a licensed Terminator game but they ran into problems so oh well you're not-Kyle Reese fighting not-Terminator at the end.
Super excited for Breath of Fire 2. I played it a looooong time ago, but it was a nice and different jrpg to play between Final Fantasies and other Squaresoft games.
Guys buy SUper Chariot! It is £0.89!!!!!! That is nuts! It's a neat little platformer that can be played with 2 players and you gotta escort a chariot containing the deceased king to his final resting place. The writing is great and the game play is top notch for that price. Absolutely mental deal for less than the price of a can of soda at a takeaway!

I don't really know much about this series, but I've heard they're all pretty interconnected or something?
So is part 3 standalone enough to pick up without missing anything major?
