At first I wasn’t sure how I would like the videos since having them react to shit as it’s happening is like, the whole fucking appeal
But it’s worth it just to see them get mad at themselves for playing video games
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
It's a shame we don't have the original audio. Just looking at some of the footage you can just tell when Dan would've been screaming "oh god!". But this is pretty good still. Dan ripping on his play in hindsight is funny.
I really wish they go back to Chrono Trigger at some point. I was really enjoying Dan's first time reaction to the story. Watching / hearing somebody react positively to something that I've enjoyed dearly is awesome. I can't relive that first time experiencing it, but it's great getting to see someone else's first time watching / playing it.

Yeah, they'd just been captured by Dalton, iirc. There's some big story stuff coming up for Danny to see.
He's gonna freak when
Crono gets killed by Lavos
I know CT is super old at this point, but I love it so much I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who might not have played it yet.
...is it wrong that I go back to their Wheel of Fortune antics when I desperately need a laugh? Like when they were playing Wheel of Fortune and one of them hit Lose A Turn four times in a row, somehow?

I'm just glad they're back to doing something other than board games. Even as funny as Dan & Arin try to make it, I just can't watch other people play that stuff, I find it soooo boring!

I actually love watching them play board games because often the rules are exceptionally simple so I can follow easy and they make stupid decisions constantly so it adds hilarity.
Like the checkers episode is one of the all time greats.

If that’s wrong, I don’t wanna be right
There are definitely a few of the one-offs I keep going back to every now any again. Gubble has a special place in my heart just because of how committed Arin is to his ridiculous bit through the whole thing.
Gubble 2 was released in 1998 for Windows 95 and 98. With similar gameplay to the first Gubble, Gubble 2 has 124 levels (or zymbots), and features new tools and enemies.[8] One notable difference is that in Gubble 2, Gubble walks around the mazes, instead of hovering. From 2000 the game was also playable in full, online at PlayMachine.net, using pay-per-play tokens[9] (PlayMachine.net was an attempt to bring game arcades online). The game came with ZymEdit, a piece of software to edit, or make new, levels for the game.[10] The game has another soundtrack of instrumental songs composed again by Seppo Hurme.[7]
Gubble Buggy Racer came out in 2000. In the game the player competes in buggy races across 8 different worlds (or tracks). The player can choose from Championship, Single Race or Time Trial modes as well as two player Head to Head or Deathmatch options. Unlike the non-violent gameplay of Gubble and Gubble 2, Gubble Buggy Racer contains a variety of super weapons to defeat the opponents.[11][1] The game contains the same soundtrack as Gubble 2.
Gubble HD is an enhanced version of the original Gubble which was released in 2007 on PC (as a 10th anniversary edition) and 2010 on the iPad. It contains new scoring, HD graphics, and three difficulty levels. At the same time as the iPad release, the original Gubble was released on iOS.[12]
On 28 September 2011 the original Gubble was released on the PlayStation Store. [13]
In 2012 Actual Entertainment started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a game titled Gubble 3D.[14][15] It raised $1,249 of the $80,000 aim.[16]
In 2014 Actual Entertainment announced the upcoming release of their new Android endless runner game Gubble Vacation Rush.[17]
In 2017 Lanzinger Studio (the new name of Actual Entertainment) started development on Gubble 20th Anniversary Edition.[12]

I wonder how many Monopoly games they will play before they realize they can mortgage properties during auctions.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Wow, that's an incredibly stupid functionality in that Monopoly game.
Ubisoft made a horrible Monopoly port, just the worst. The Grumps really need to go more retro with this because it's just bad in a lot of unique ways. Like forcing surrender on a private match of a turn based game.

They should use board top simulator or whatever it’s called

Watching the Breath of Wild playthrough... I swear to God put on some clothes Arin. Please.
Yeah, and he should better dress Link as well.
On a related Zelda note, I apparently have the second-highest rated youtube comment on their Link Between Worlds Finale? It was just a silly joke on my part in a place where people are explicitly warned not to read, but I'll take whatever appreciation I can get.

It's a very well constructed joke, you should be proud of it.
I like that they made this game actually impossible for them to win. Hard AI + no VMUs to see what card they are picking.

"The Carbuncle ate itself" made episode 2 of Sonic Shuffle a sort of dadaist masterpiece. Episode 3 was just rough as heck to get through. I can't imagine what episode 4 will be like.
Arin's inability to breathe after reading that was hilarious.

These sonic shuffle episodes are so good, but my god what the fuck even is this game?
I actually love how apathetic Dan is to it as well. He has this kind of “ I hate this game, please make it stop, but I have to finish the job!” thing going on

The end of episode 5 is like the equivalent of blueballs wanting Dan to get that damn stone. He has been committed to that for like the entire episode and just keeps narrowly missing it.

I’m today’s episode! The bukkake really comes together
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
If they do come back to this game, I hope it's sooner than later so they don't forget some of the minutia of the game that sets it apart from Monopoly.
I know they both tend to ham up their bad gameplay for recordings while (at least) Arin sounds capable of being good at them on livestreams or when he plays casually at home.
Dan tends to be the opposite, though. If he's invested in the game, he does well, but the minute he's eating a loss or isn't into it, he makes even worse decisions and never climbs out of the hole. It makes for bad recording sessions sometimes if his bummed out attitude makes him argumentative or frustrated. Arin knows how to turn losing into something humourous, but some of the Clubhouse 51 episodes or recent Monopoly games have shown Dan at his worst and it's not a good look.
Seeing some of Dan's decision making in this when he had Teamrex or Debt Boy and tanking it were terrible. He immiediately takes a defeatist attitude instead of trying to turn it around and figure out how to get out of the rut.
Dan sold his shady business deal so we didn't even get to see how it turned out. That's really annoying, it could have turned out to be a really funny event that made both of them get really mad or excited. They just need to pay attention at least a LITTLE bit more. I'm thinking about that Mario Party game where they DESTROYED Supermega. That would have been impossible to manage if they mashed through text, hit the wrong buttons, and generally just forgot what they were even doing.

WE'RE PLAYING FUCKING GUBBLE!
What astonishes me is that gubble of all things got a sequel, HD remaster and a spin-off kart racer. And a bunch of other things:
