I don't know where you folks have been but I'm pretty excited that they're finally dedicating the time to War With Grandpa that it deserves. Excited to hear what the War With Grandcast has coming up.
The hook for the next Rude Tales is so goddamn good
I'm gonna go ahead and admit that I forgot basically everything that was going on a hundred years ago when the last Rude Tales episode came out, so I'm just happy my friends are back.
I love that Spencer is keeping "NPR Class Pundit" in his twitter bio just as he's about to start cohosting a show on the SEC network. That's going to have hilarious ramifications at some point.
I just... don't understand Mark Zuckerberg's... face? Forehead?
I don't know, would having normal hair make him seem more alive and human? I've never seen someone bald like that, it looks like its intentionally shaved. Like, the Zorpulaan exosuit designers couldn't figure out quite how to put hair there without interfering with the hermetic cranial escape hatch seal.
He's just got a receding hairlne.
He has his hair cut like that because he idolises some Roman fascist or something and wants to be the dude.
Listened to all of Adventure Zone Amnesty in the last couple weeks, I'm pretty sure some of it doesn't make sense but what a ride. I wonder if they'll ever get to a graphic novel for Amnesty, they're not going to be done with Balance for like 5 more years.
I watched a few videos of people playing Among Us and I definitely understand why it's become a whole thing online. I definitely recognize that fun, arguing with your friends about who is secretly a piece of shit energy from the...year long stretch where we had like a rotating group of about ten people obsessed with the Battlestar Galactica board game

My social circle would have semi-regular Liars Nights, where we'd all get together and do Resistance, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Salem, Coup, etc etc
I miss those nights desperately

Saw clips from a stream on twitter where folk were playing Among Us and agreed on some rules
-Everyone knows who the Imposter is
-You cant vote people off
-Lights are off for entire ship so everyone has very limited vision
They basically changed it from a murder mystery into a slasher flick and it was extremely funny.

I saw a variant where there was no discussion time, 15 seconds of voting time, you had to vote for someone, no skip voting, and couldn't say who you voted for.
I must say that while Mr. Bob Evans is an intrepid journalist he certainly has a penchant for internetty pop history brain trash you ride that skip button to about 15 minutes on the latest Behind the Bastards to dodge it
Whew more like 20 minutes I guess

Yeah I have definitely started to find Evans a bit grating when he's being light-hearted. And then I feel a bit guilty that I only really like him when he's angry or sad.

I'm teaching a new group of students, and they've been playing it together. Usually I'll have a bunch of people with pretty different backgrounds, aged between 16 and 22 or so, who are kind of there to do their own thing, but this bunch have bonded really well over the game. It's excellent. Slightly distracting, but I'll take it.

I've played a variation called "Tag" where there the Imposter has a very small field of vision but a 15 second kill timer. Everyone else gets 2 short tasks to complete and you can't declare any dead bodies or call an emergency meeting. It's just a mad dash to complete the tasks before the Imposter murders you all.
