No? Monster hunter was a huge series already before world
They tried changing things up more in world but it wasn't the point the series suddenly went mainstream
Ehh. Monster Hunter World sold 22m copies, no previous single entry sold broke 5m.
They sold 32m copies between World and Iceborne, Tri with 9.4m across all its versions and games is the second highest by that metric.
Are the rotation A rewards on Circulus a good way to farm somatic fibers, or are people just dumbasses? I'm willing to leave room open for the former until I learn more.
Steel path circuit failure due to failing survival mission
Survival is like the only stage where you have an actual threat of failing these days. It can be pretty rough.
When me and a friend were dipping our toes in, it felt like Defense was the only mission we could possibly fail. Like it completely unmatched in difficulty compared to anything else it might throw at us.
Are the rotation A rewards on Circulus a good way to farm somatic fibers, or are people just dumbasses? I'm willing to leave room open for the former until I learn more.
yes, that's probably the fastest way to farm somatic fibers

Okay, good, faith in humanity slightly restored. Still a pain when people sabotage my Voruna runs, though.

Warframe is such a seemingly random mix of detailed, and completely disconnected lore. I love feeling lost in a world that, if I squint, seems so vast and detailed down to the smallest quanta, over thousands of years. I know it's mostly a pastiche of random developer thoughts and ideas with little in the way of an overarching, solid theme. It's still cool to find blurbs like somatic fibers being an attempt to umbra other warframes.
Warframe makes me happy to explore their world even though gameplay has become filling up meters.
Duvarii is now, in my mind, time warp to the fallen kingdom and sidequest it up.
My only complaint is that they do not have more kinds of sidequests.
The owl giving me the AC gunship gameplay of call of duty without killing anyone or anything is a delight.

Anyways, now that my Huckebein Mk3 has arrived it's getting about that time for another of Bandai's big announcement expos. What's on you guyses' SRW shortlist? I'm expecting one of...
* Granzon
* Weissritter
* Grungust (long shot: OG Getter-tier variable geometry transformations)
* Huckebein Classic (long shot: too many Huckies in too short a time)
* Aussenseiter
* Angelg
* Soulgain
My safe bet would be the SRWA originals (Angelg, Soulgain).

Good lord, the latest episode of Very Important People with Zac Oyama as the guest.
Vic and Zac both broke multiple times during the interview. It's WAY too funny. "What's your dream job, if money wasn't an issue?" Without missing a beat "the military".
it was pretty big outside japan! several million copies is a pretty big series
It had a solid fanbase who were very dedicated, but the difference is night and day, seriously. It's basically impossible to overstate how big it blew up - going from 9.4m to 32m is *insane*
At the risk of derailing this Monster Hunter thread...
Loaded up Elden Ring for the first time in a year on PC, only to find the performance has gotten substantially worse compared to when I last played, with microstutters and 12-15 FPS drops abound. Literally the only DX12 game I own with these performance issues.
So loaded it back up on PS5 instead, where I will likely play from now on. Started a STR/ARC build with enough FTH for all the dragon incantations as well as the Roar and Axe talismans and will likely use that for the DLC.
You check to see if they turned on the raytracing? I think that ended up being on by default after the patch.
I've gone through all the troubleshooting already, and ensured ray tracing was off.
The only thing I haven't tried was reinstalling it on an SSD instead of my m.2 drive.
I suspect a SSD drive would do it a ton of favors, honestly. I swear i remeber it had issues with streaming content in when it launched

It's interesting watching them all start trying to find their groove with the character and then hitting it. Zac took a little bit but ended super strong. I still think Ify has been the best so far.
I don't care what they call it but full-price expansions gotta have the meat to make them feel worth that price, fromsoft DLC has never done that before so I am very interested to see if the $40 reflects the amount of content compared to the $60 massively stuffed original game or not.
I'm definitely gonna be trying it to find out though.
Not sure what you're saying here. That FromSoft has never offered a chunky expansion-esque DLC (Old Hunters has entered the chat)? Or that their DLC is never worth the price point regardless of size / price (all of DaS2's DLC and Ringed City would like a word)?
They actually have a pretty good DLC track record. Even Ashes of Ariendel and Artorias of the Abyss are not terrible, even if they are weaker than some others.
Armored Core would like to say hi. Past the AC1 era, each expansion game has been big enough to stand alone. Which they literally did; sold separately, built on the same engine and base content, but with new stuff and a complete story experience of their own, just not the original game's campaign.
It really seems like they've worked up something of similar or even more grand scope here, but are selling it in a more modern way.

The AC expansions had:
- New stages
- New missions/story content
- New arenas
- New equipment with some new capabilities
- All existing equipment and capabilities
All of which is also expected in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Yes AC expansions are not literal add-ons, but it shouldn't matter; that was intentional due to the limitations of the physical-only console game era. My point is that they they still took an existing base and added more, enough to be worthwhile as a separate game. I feel the repeated execution of such releases is pretty relevant to concerns over DLC scope and From's release history.

actually I still need Vourna if you want a buddy.
Thanks, but I finally managed to grind out enough stuff to buy the parts I'm missing and craft all of them. Unless I decide that I really want a maxed Arcane Blessing for some reason, I probably won't be back there any time soon.

I have no real expectations, as I still haven't played Elden Ring and have no plans for it (I did watch a large amount of it). I just wanted to point out From Software has plenty of experience making big expansions, for those only familiar with recent, smaller work, and concerns due to that.
If you're asking me to make some deductions, sure I'll hazard a guess. Based on all I know about this and From Software, I'd suspect Shadow of the Erdtree may end up larger than its file size suggests, but not as large as the base game over again. Consider that unlike Souls, not all new content must involve new areas. Due the more open nature of the game world, it's possible to integrate new content using existing spaces, something not as easy to do well before due to the structure of its predecessors. Their time is almost assuredly less occupied with engine-related development than the initial game, so that's more time for pure content and testing.
voruna's lucky her maps are pretty fun to grind, I am still far from finishing citrine and her weapons because I don't find defense nearly as stimulating.
Currently, I brown ground beef, add teriyaki or whatever sauce, simmer. Serve on rice. That's it.
I guess it tastes good, but I don't respect things I cook that are easy. I can add onions and stuff, but I'm not sure what would actually make it much better. Turning it into hamburger helper is too much calories and salt I think. Good chili is kind of over the threshold of easy.

Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

Mirror defense is fucking exhausting, and the original Citrine mirror defense more so than the Murmur mirror defense. 5-20 minutes of chasing tiny crystals to minimally boost your match rewards.
At least the murmur version reward for chasing glyphs is so worthless as to not even matter (the only reason to chase Vosphene glyphs is to trigger the defense mechanism).
In both cases the drop tables are so bad it further contributes to the mental exhaustion (diluted with endo, credits, relics better farmed elsewhere etc)

Huh, I just managed to bug out the skin on my landing craft. I was purchasing the blueprint for the Parallax, but instead of going back to my original Liset afterwards it had the Parallax selected instead, with no skin listed and the display showing a weird corrupted Liset. I went back in and out, and now it says that my landing craft is a Liset with the base Parallax skin equipped.
edit: Huh, looks like I can actually do this consistently. Buy blueprint, select skin for landing craft that I don't own, back out, then when I go back in my original landing craft has that skin equipped.

I gotta say, I'm getting to the point where I'm considering farming prime parts/rivens to sell for plat rather than dealing with more goddamn Mirror Defense.

Dash chili powder or cayanne
Oregano
Maybe an herb if you have any.
