So, before last night I should have applied meta's post about using grid in the Kologarn fight to add his Stone Grip Debuff. It's pretty frustrating that we had so many problems with him, even though some of them were caused by bugs.
Even as DPS I use Grid for quite a few boss encounters. Breaking out people who get caught by Hodir's flash freeze, for example.
The most annoying was the one where we had pretty clearly won and then he fucking used his breath despite having a tank and 3 other people in melee range.
It's ok though we'll get it next week. Shit like this happens every now and then.
Grid was never necessary for me. Then again, I was a fucking Holy Paladin in BC. You know what I healed there? MT. One target. Balls. Shitload of cleansing up to Mother Shaz but that's about it. Maybe it'll be different as a priest (level 76 goddammit wtb 80)

Is there a way on grid to just turn debuff filtering off? The raid frames I use allow that, and most bosses don't use more than 2-3 debuffs at a time so it's just icon recognition to react appropriately.
Really we had the concept of the fight down about halfway through the night, but a combination of bugs (stone grip when the arm is dead, breath with a tank on him) and sheer frustration causing people to pay less attention stopped us from getting him down. Moving to iron council with about an hour left on our raid wouldn't have really helped as we'd have to learn them from scratch too.

Immediately after I spent 1600 on a red drake so I'm not very responsible with my money anyway.
meh... it's not like you need money for much of anything anymore. You earn your gear, raiding almost pays for itself (minus flasks which dailies can take care of)

yeah most of the people who were in the raid tonight probably spent 300-400g apiece in repairs
progression is expensive, its farmed content that more than pays for itself.
