destroyers do more damage than a cruiser, however, cruisers have way more survivability

I love that they added a training queue. Sure beats having to decide between staying/getting up at 2 am to start a new skill vs thinking about how many skill points you're losing.

H-holy shit. That makes a massive difference, but is there a limit, so that I can't just not play for a month and continue learning skills the entire time?

When I played, I always liked the cut of this particular destroyer's jib, despite what people said about it.

It's a 24 hour limit, it's mainly there just so that people don't have to worry about setting alarm clocks.

Its *kind of* a 24 hour limit. Right now my queue is almost 40 hours... because if you have 23 hours in queue, you can stick a massive skills right at the end and let it overflow.

Yeah, I assume people will have a few skills going a couple of weeks or more, and a lot more that would be in the range of 5+ days.

Yeah, it just gives you a 24 hour window to plug another skill into the queue before the skills currently in queue finish. So if you have a skill finishing up and the next skill will take 12 days to train, that's fine as long as you log in to add the skill anytime after the current queue drops under 24 hours. Gives you much more flexibility.

hi5 "only log on to queue skills" buddy

I did that for the last year. I'd picked up a ton of game time when I started playing, then promptly lost interest when [whatever game] came out and would only log on to queue up my skills. Then when the time came for my subscription to renew, I'd completely forgotten that they still had my CC number and it renewed without my knowing. Buuuuut fuck it, it happened and I didn't really care too much, so I continued to learn skills.

It's made coming back to EVE REALLY easy, having a character with 14mil skillpoints I can just jump into. Within a week or so I could probably fly anything cruiser-shaped.

In my single month of playing EVE like 2 years ago, I learned that everyone should be able to pilot a rifter. It is the greatest ship to die in ever.

I just suggested it to newbees to get their first experience with tackling/blowing up in a rifter

yeah, it sounds like a lot of fun and I'm still considering pausing heavy missiles and training up gal frig instead

but then I really want to get into a drake with t2 heavies

minnie frig, propulsion jamming, hull upgrades, small projectile turret, afterburners (and navigation) all trained up to level 1 should put you in a t1 rifter

Edit: forgot to add, rifter probably needs minnie frig to level 3

ok, so while I can easily train gal frig up to level 3 by then I don't have the small projectile turret skill and the nearest book I can find on the market is like 30 jumps away

"a bunch of jumps then nothing" sums up the entire fleet op experience. If you're lucky you'll get one good fleet fight every 2 or 3 weeks.
And by "good fleet fight", I mean dealing with horrible lag and the likelihood that your ship will explode before you even know that you are being targeted.

its a big diff between MWD and afterburner. I'm pretty sure a Rifter can hit 2km/s with an MWD... hell, my destroyer can almost hit 1.6.

Druhim asked for the basic necessities. Yes, an mwd would help. Although if you're fighting other frigs then you might want to stick with the afterburner so that you can web/scram and still keep range.
