The days of "silly money" are over, but you can still make decent isk ratting in a drake. The ishtar is a good PVE boat too, though. The plentiful high and mid utility slots with an active armor tank make it a great ship for roaming around to find plexes.

if you have t2 sentries, you can take your ishtar and warp to a sanctum at 50km, unload your sentries and go afk
Welp, I'm in a friends house for the next while with no constant access to internet, so I'll get to change my skills every now and then (yay for VNC to a PC that has EVE on it)

I'm old fashioned and think using ulterior channels to exploit your way to supremacy in a game and then bragging about it doesn't have a whole lot of social value.
The article is MOSTLY an indictment of the meta game. It unfairly uses the actual happenings within the game client as backgrounding, but his primary beef is with the people who engage in the meta game in patently dishonest ways.
EVE soap operas are pretty funny, but it's not funny when mal adjusted idgets base their lives on it. That's their choice though. The article is wrong to attack them personally for it, but it's not like the entire article is a lie.
At worst as an apologist you could make the case that "its part of the game". His article is based on the idea that it shouldn't be.
I..don't even know what you mean by "ulterior channels". It's like you made up a phrase that you thought sounded kind of cool. CCP has blatantly given the thumbs up to scamming in game. I don't see how there's anything "ulterior" (however you mean it in this case) about following the rules of the game to destroy someone's assets or scam assets from them. Saying it shouldn't be part of the game is like saying you don't think field goals should be part of football. Ok? What am I supposed to do with such a stupid opinion other than laugh at it? If you don't like the rules of a game, there are plenty of other games for you to play.
And it is written terribly. There's just no other way to put it. Setting aside what he's saying, his writing is crap.

I'm not being sarcastic, btw. I love the word. I also love shield tanking with a Drake.

He could be saying something I agree with and it would still be terribly written. There are high schoolers who can write better than him.

Rofl, good ole eve, log in and I'm in the ombil ring because a friend of mine is the ceo of a corp that runs it and I was helping him organize ops during the goonfleet regroup. I decide since the entire alliance has me blue I'm cool to fly to jita. Nope 3 gates out I get podded and upon mentioning to the guy who podded me that he just shot down a blue, let alone a blue who has been friends with his ceo for 15 years he bans me from his coalition chat.
Good ole eve. Ill have to go back and destroy them later.
