Anyone have experience at the Boston Mariott Copley Place? Staying there Thurs-Sun as the Westin was booked, which is a shame as a thoroughly enjoyed staying there for East 2015

Stayed there once for Anime Boston a few years ago, so I can't speak to it for getting to and from PAX. It's a nice hotel, decent sized rooms. On the fancier side. Lots of dining options nearby.

I'm staying pretty far out at the Holiday Inn in Cambridge. Sucks I couldnt get anything close but I'm only paying 400 for 3 nights so i think it works itself out.
you can pick up the redline from cambridge and it will bring u to about a mile from the convention center.also if you can haul a bike, riding a bike is alot of fun and cheaper.

I'm pretty sure I stayed there a few years back, there's a T station (I believe it's Lechmere) a few blocks up the road, take the green line in to Park St station, transfer to the Red line and take that to South Station. Transfer to the Silver line and take that to World Trade Center. It stops right in front of the convention center.

Thanks for the info! Did you like the hotel? was it too far from downtown during the nights?

Cambridge is on the other side of the Charles River from Boston...while in actual distance it's not too far...in MBTA distance is faaaaaar away. While the T is great when it's humming along, it's down right hair pulling steam out of your ears blowingly awful when it's not. Imo that is too many transfers be taking to get to the con every day and night. You'll find that you'll be taking cabs/ubers on the way back at night.

I liked it, I've never had any issues with Holiday Inn! Worked great for a place to stay with my brother. It's also right up the street from a Dunkin Donuts so it's in a good spot to grab breakfast on the way to the train. I do remember the area being a bit iffy but I was a bit on the sheltered side when I last stayed there.
It's pretty easy to get to the show, though takes about 30-45 minutes depending on the schedule, getting back may be harder depending on how late you stay. I keep hearing mixed info about the T not running late night service now. If you stick it out till the end of the concerts you're probably going to need a cab. We had a friend staying a few blocks away from the expo hall who offered us rides back at night.
FYI - I was downtown and couldn't help but to take a look at the renovations going on at the Boston Park Plaza...the lobby looks REALLY nice! They are still working on the restaurant, "Strip by Strega", which is located on the main floor of the hotel, it pretty much just a gutted shell right now.
Looking up at the building there are building permits posted in all of the windows on the LOWEST room floor - so I'm thinking that the top floors are already done. I'm kicking my self for not confirming with the front desk staff if that was the only floor left to do, which is probably just around hundred rooms. Either way, if you are planning on staying there I would request the highest floor possible.
If I book a reservation but they don't have the Thursday available, how easy is it to add that Thursday to my existing reservation if it becomes available later (without changing rooms)?
Also experience with double occupancy rooms but having 3 people staying in a room. Any additional fees?

When you go to manage your reservation on Onpeak you have the ability to add extra nights(assuming they're available). As for your occupancy question, just let me put it this way: For both of my PAX Prime trips I had 3 people in my double occupancy room and didn't get charged extra. If you don't bring extra people up to the desk to check in, and you're not loud and getting security called on you, they'll probably never know. Just remember, though, that the hotel does have the right to charge you based on how many people are in your room(or kick you out, if you're egregiously breaking the rules.)

Pretty easy! Just like @OysterPrime said. Just be careful with the rooms. I've never tried to have more than two to a room, but if I did I would just pay the extra, it's usually $20 more a night. It would worth the piece of mind not having to hide some one, and that way they also get a key.
I just released my two rooms at the Hilton Boston Logan and picked up two at the Hyatt Regency since feedback seems pretty positive for it(and it's more central to some restaurants we want to try.) Isn't this hotel supposed to have shuttle service? I didn't see it listed on Onpeak but I checked shuttle routes for the past few years and the Hyatt was on every one.

Can you hold multiple reservations under multiple email addresses? (Like if I want to hold a hotel Fri-Sun and see if the Thursday opens up, but already have a full reservation booked at another hotel)?

Yes, but you better remember to cancel the one you don't want. Because if you don't they will charge what ever card you use to hold it.
Hotels are pretty crazy today, got Th-M ROH at Seaport and F-M 2-bed at Renaissance for my group. Might just cancel the former and squeeze five people into the latter if I can get a Thursday.

Picked up a Fri to Sun at Seaport .... Question if you reserve a quad occupancy ROH what does it mean? Will I get a two bed room or a single ... Understand it is a best available deal just trying to figure this all out and onpeak is less than useless with information. I messaged them and instead of answering the system referred me back to the spent pax prime page. As I said less than useless.

Abby, I think that means any room they can put you in that has either two beds or a bed and a sofabed, it won't have only one bed. This probably includes the corner suites facing the BCEC...where we stayed last year and the year before, talk about awesome digs! It was my secret but now I probably can't ever reserve them again. They weren't large rooms but had a king bed and sofabed and could sleep 4 AND you could see how long the lines were. LOL. I checked this summer as soon as rooms went up on their site and they already had blocked off every one of those rooms for something so there was no way to reserve the same room again even though I asked for it months before it went up. Likely for this new ROH to give them more room capacity for OnPeak. If you have more questions about the Seaport let me know but I remember you stayed there before. I am staying at Element this year as I needed larger accommodations (connected rooms) for my group.
Thanks @Karoneth, I really just wanted to understand how this ROH thing works. We have an overlapping reservation at Park Plaza as we arrive on the Tuesday prior so will likely keep a portion of that and change hotels on the Friday unless we magically find additional days
Yeah I have stayed at Seaport before, had a harbour view corner king ... But then we were only two in the room. This time we are four so I am hoping for two beds. I expect if they have quad occupancy the room has to be rated for at least that. Preference would be no sofa bed of course.

man, i was even excited about my getting Renaissance for Thu-Sun. Now I just need Sun-Mon so I can release my original reservation, though still holding out for Seaport/aloft/element :P glad I happened to refresh onPeak tonight Nice for those getting closer!!
Run of House: You get enough spots to sleep the number of people you paid for.
You might get two double or queen beds for 3 people, or you might get a double and a pull out sofa bed.
So if you think you're being tricky by saying 1 person and then trying to cram 5-6, you might be surprised by only having a spot for 1 person to sleep in a Run of House and a lot of bad times.

Argh! I missed this. the closest on one listed is the Boston Harbor, were there any closer ones that opened?
