Cheese Paladin just so consistently pops off on turns 4-5 and then kills you two turns later, I'm honestly not sure what would break its back.
Make the legendary only tutor for targetable effects. It will be stronger for buff paladin decks but prevents degeneracy. Alternately, have a mana cost limit (same or lesser cost as the spell burst trigger).
Oh, nerfs, sure, I mean from a counter/tech perspective.
Maybe Bomb/Control Warrior can be teched for it? Bombs can brick Alura, but I'm not sure if even Warrior has enough clears to handle Tip + Clowns x2 + N'Zoth + Y'Shaarj + Clowns x2.
Cheese paladin was more or less possible before the mini expansion right? It’s just the deathrattle dragon tutor that puts it over the edge?

It's got two ways of going off, tutored Noz into 10 drops or Allura + coin/wandmaker spell which always casts tip the scales and flips the board + usually threatens lethal
Noz is incredibly risky since your opponent gets to go first with 10 mana available to them
It's very resilient to board clears with clowns y'shaarj and n'zoth bringing multiple fat boards back like double twisting nether doesn't even faze it
I've only just started playing a little Hearthstone again after a long hiatus, but I think the Cheese Paladin deck is probably the most disgusting thing I've seen in the game firsthand. I've been rising the ranks from bottom rung up to plat 5 thanks to the free pure paladin deck they gave me as a returning player but I'm already running into cheese paladin quite often and they literally have the wombo-combos on curve every single time.
It's way more degenerate than Barnes or the original OTK murloc paladin ever was, and makes complaints about things like old school force of nature + savage roar look like kiddy toys. It's honestly already made me want to stop playing again since it's so insanely unfun to face and not even reasonable to tech against.

only the absolute greediest control warrior/priest/warlock decks can outlast cheese pally right now
even aggressive decks just straight up immediately lose to allura + coin
I played against a lot of druids tonight. I think 90% of my games were against druid, paladin, or hunter. I think the only game I had against a class other than those was one game against a zoolock.
Edit: Oh wait, I forgot I repressed one of my first games against a Whirlkick Rogue who god drew so hard that god himself blew his brains out witnessing that game.
WoWHobbs isn't great at the game, but comes up with some hilarious stuff.

i'm considering taking cheeseburger pally to its logical conclusion and turning it into highlander because sir finley is really good, zephrys is nice and i feel like a grab bag of Good Cards works best in pally
only problem would be drawing tip the scales early
e: also people are unironically running hungry crab as a two-of hate card in this, the year of our Lord twenty twenty-one

Wouldn't that also cripple your actual Tip the Scales if you did get to play it early? Would you even have 7 total murlocs to pull, let alone any that you drew early being removed from the Tip pool as well?
The new Druid card that gives you treants and buffs is something special when paired with the doubling solar eclipse spell. I tried to cobble together a treant-heavy deck but I was heartbroken to discover Mulchmuncher was only available in wild.

I wonder how they will murder the viability of cheesedin
It will probably not be elegant or well thought out

Make Alura only able to cast targetted spells out of your deck and it wouldn't be nearly as notable of a list anymore
If they can't make that distinction in the coding it'd still hurt if it just let you cast a spell out of your hand or something I guess
Interesting. VS was down on Solar Eclipse in that version. What did you swap out? I don't play enough to try it both ways and compare, so I'm curious if the next VS report will change at all on that front.

Paladin decks running Nozdormu the Timeless and winning games. It truly is madness at the Darkmoon Faire.

Yeah, that’s why I’ve swapped to a greedy rally priest variant (more mass removal, which hurts the early game but helps against cheese paladin).
It’s not a good deck imho but is situated well in the meta.

so, watch for that
I know evil is relative and all, but Nozdormu in this is just . . . man.

Bet i can still dig up the post...

i call this one "RNGesus take the wheel"
the sheer amount of chaos that ensued from the Sneeds and Kangors was hilarious. Elistra was positioned there cause cleave, but yeah.
Battlegrounds are so much more fun when you go for wacky unconventional shit, honestly. i was not expecting this build to work but it fucking did
Battle.net Tag: Dibby#1582
holy shit solar eclipse + arbor up with any kind of board at all and you just win the game
Also it's incredibly cheap
I'm also trying out BEES
He spent turns 3 and 4 ramping to, like, 8 or 10 mana.
So I Noz'd because I can has 10 mana, too!
