what are the differences between order and chaos in this? are they purely arbitrary like horde alliance or are there mechanical differences?
or to put it another way: the more i hear about this game the more i am slowly putting together a plan on how to play it and where. every little tidbit is drawing me in.
Okay, no, it's not horde and alliance. That's faggoty cartoony shit. There is no /dance in WAR. It's not Dancehammer. It's not Crafthammer where you spend all day creating 10,000 mithril gloves so that you can make dragonskin gloves. It's fucking WARhammer.
As in waging war. War against heretics, against demons and cultists, against mutants, against stunties, orks, faggoty elves and half naked dark elves who sport daggers and huge knives that have cut off a thousand dicks. That is WAR.
In Warhammer, the Empire is the 'human' faction, and they feature in their street corners torture chambers and gothic architecture. If you are even suspected of heresy or not believing in your God 100%, you and your entire blood line will be executed on the fucking spot.
And now for chaos, the mortal enemy of the empire, if you are weak: you die. If you consort with the wrong demons: you die. If you slow down the march of change and chaos: you die. If your kill quota for the week falters even a little bit: you will be struck down and then a demon will just burst from your fucking body.
Also, in regards to the video in the OP, where the fuck is my awesome champion of order? Why is the only rad thing we see there a big fucking generic chaos dragon? It looked like a butchered Tzeetch, but Tzeetch ain't no dragon nossir.

Also, I know it's a decent gameplay decision, but I hope upon hope that we'll see Khorne and Nurgle implemented in future expansions. I'm not very interested in Chaos as it is, but if they add motherfucking Nurgle, give me some sort of bloated plaguebearer priest class, and I will be so happy. So. Happy.
