My big complaint right now is the messy voice coms, maybe PC games have left me spoiled but the voice coms in this game get so messy with listening to everyones feedback...ugh
Also, as much as I love big fights, this game really starts to shine with smaller game sizes, I was playing with some PA folks earlier today on some of the 16 man servers and that actually worked out pretty damn well. We got roughly the same points and were able to coordinate far better than in the mess of a 32 man tiny map slugfest.
this is a game where there's booshing and "Boom, headshot!" but it's not supposed to be ironic. you're actually supposed to empathise with these characters

That bit where your former squadmates escape, and immediately get in a celebratory BOOSH, cracks me up every time. It's a shame you had to join the other side, the drug related powers were far more interesting.

Excellent games Wanghast! When we were all rocking the same team, ownage was our constant companion.
Its amazing watching this game blossom from just simple team deathmatch mechanics into a real tactical battlefield. I can only imagine this getting even more awesome as the rest of the classes open up new gameplay possibilities.
Also, that one map with the drainage channel underneath and all the bridges running across it is just too damn small for more than 16 players. :x

Good games dudes. Sorry I'm too drunk to actually be productive but PEW PEW PEW BANG
hahaahaha
I thought you seemed a bit...aloof. Good times nonetheless.
EDIT: a couple of questions, mostly regarding the engineer.
There's a team-wide cap on available sentries, isn't there? Me and Bizlock were having some trouble figuring that out why you sometimes could build two or three sentries when you already have one of your own up, but sometimes you couldn't build any regardless. hrmm.
Also, has anyone been hit with the shotty's flashlight? I'm wondering if it can practically blind people up close or if it's just there to fill the sighting button.
Matrix Like Gun. Lightning Zapper thing with Unlimited Lightning!
Just 'til the end of that mission, unfortunately. Though I suppose it makes sense, that thing is cheap as hell. Fun! But makes things a little too easy.
I've only played for a short while but I'm really enjoying it, even though I've already encountered a fair number of FPS clichés. The graphics are amazing and are the best I've seen since Crysis.
I haven't had much of a problem with the aiming so far, but this is my first console FPS so I might not have much of a frame of reference. I'm playing on the Easiest mode (:P) and I'm not exactly pwning the Helghast so I think I need to spend more time in singleplayer before joining you guys in multi.
I'm fine with the rest of the controls but holding L3 to sprint is fucking retarded. Sprint and melee should be exchanged.
I don't know if you've already done anything, but if you haven't you should look at the controller options. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you don't have to hold down L3, just click it once and as long you keep running forward the sprint will continue.
I cant be one to say "oh this will fix your precision" and I guess its not everyones bag, along with this relating to a game I have not played in a long time, and yes im referring to cod series, probably 4 because it has the run option, yet not pertaining to what im going to say, yadayadayada, anyway, to the point.
The point being, I turned on the option "hold to zoom" and switched my controller style from the default to 'Alternate 2' which puts zoom from R3 to L1 (or is it L2) whatever, the opposite of fire is. I found that by using my finger on that L button instead of R3, I wasnt fiddling with zooming and looking for the shot when I found someone as I now instead just find the person, sight em up and bang bang, dead.
I may have stated the obvious, maybe not. To me its preferable, hopefully this helps you guys?
I have not played cod 4 in almost a year now, but the switch helps tremendously.
Ill also look into this turning the sensitivity down a couple.
Hopefully be able to game with you motherfuckers tonight, really anticipating it, was about to last night, but was about to shut it off when I got the invite. boourns.
That was alot of pointless drivel to get to what I wanted to say.
edit: alternate 2 might bug some people who only use one finger on each the L and R buttons as L2 is crouch which makes things a pain, but id take quick zoom "precision" over crouching anyday.
I tried the alternate 2 scheme and got annoyed having to hold down L2 and hit L1 at the same time to aim. I got used to using R3 to toggle zoom. I'll probably get all screwed up if I try and play another FPS right now though...
I just don't understand, do people who make games not play them? Do they not understand what gamers would want... like say... the ability to fully map the controller how we want? or adjust individual sensitivities (hip-shot vs. zoomed in)?
Ugh
On the plus side, I unlocked the engineer class wooooo.

Today, I discovered that you can tilt the controller slightly to help with your sniper aiming. At first, I thought it was just a gimmick to make you keep your hands still. It's actually quite helpful when you get the crosshairs close for a headshot, but keep moving past the target.

Ok that first fight against
Radec and his near endless supply of minions is utter bullshit on Veteran. I can't even imagine it on the highest difficulty, because I'm not that masochistic. Seriously, enemies coming from all sides, special forces guys up the wazoo who take multiple grenade shots to kill, and then ROCKETS
I'll get through it eventually, but seriously, I think half my deaths in this game will come from this accursed section. :x

Is the tilt thing multiplayer also? or just singleplayer, I haven't noticed it, but that might help.
And I think lag definitely has been contributing to my frustrating game experiences. Today I was testing out my new engineer class so I had the ol shotgun. I shot a guy point blank, he turned around, shot me down to 1/2 health and bam he dies and I get credit for the kill... is... he lagging? am I lagging?
Also, how does the shotgun aim thing work exactly? Does the flashlight... do anything? I know when I hit it, it'll like.. snap-aim to the person I'm aiming at. do you just flick that thing on and off and fire in between?
And I'm still having trouble finding the right sensitivity. I've tried as low as 20% and as high as 80%. What are most of you guys using? Low? High?

So how does Saboteur work? Do you just throw on a disguise (like TF2) or do you have to steal it like Enemy Territory? I have no idea how useful it is since every time i run into one its a person on my team with a flashing name, so its real easy to catch.

Yeah, my experience has been as long as you hold your run you don't need to hold in the stick. As soon as you pull back it'll stop the run and pull up your gun again, though.
Also, whoa, there's a class that's basically a TF2 spy? Awesome. The multiplayer is just going to get more and more interesting.
Anyone wanna try for a big game tonight? I'm good basically any time.
I have a question for everyone who has played multiplayer: Have you ever been killed by a tacticians flying drone? I have never see anyone die from it and i have no idea how anyone would ever get the second badge for the tactician.

Just got done playing on a FF-enabled server (that promptly crashed near the end of the round o_O)
In a word....blech
I'm all for careful play and tactical awareness in games that call for it, but people die way too fast here and the maps / action are way too chaotic to throw FF in the mix. I can only imagine the amount of tking once the saboteur and heavy classes are unlocked for most people
As for those aerial drones Matt!, there are too few in-game atm moment to really gauge their effectiveness, though I'd imagine they're probably about as useful as the sentry gun (which is they're good for support but not meant to be depended on for all your kills)
Wait a second. Does this mean that people don't run around in multiplayer with a shitload of "health" and take 20-30 round to kill? Like halo? Which is the most godawful shitty way to play a multiplayer game and people who like to play that way I look down upon. If that is true then you have just sold me the game sir. Because man fuck taking 40 shots to kill a man. I'll take one or two rounds to drop someone any day.
I'll take liscence to kill mode of any other mode in goldeneye.. anyday. Real men feel the same way.

I don't know what it looks like, but I've had fools run right towards and past me while having it on. You just use the ability and your name changes to a player on the other teams name. Only way to spot them is if your crosshairs are on them, or a turrent catches them. Damage (team or otherwise) will break the disguise. Out of about 6 assassinations I just ran, only one I didn't get because I didn't see a turret.

Yeah, for the most part it really doesn't take many shots to kill someone here.

Yeah, that was pretty insane.

It encourages a slower, more tactical playstyle, which is what I like about games like this.

I spent two hours hunting down this bastich.

that's definitely what this game feels like. a lot more imprecise and rough actions to maybe get your character to do what you want.
when aiming, i spend half my energy focusing on burst firing since full auto screws over your accuracy way too much
this seems to be fixing stuff for lots of people.
