I mean, if you want to push for high warlord, you do you.
but that is a road drowned in tears.

I personally find it easier getting parity raid dps gear. But I mean... thinking it through... 4 or 5 months of raiding 10hours a week compared to 2months at 20hours a day... the time investment is probably on parity, its just a matter of if you are psychotic determined enough to do that to yourself.

I couldn't point you to the article (because its over a decade old by now), but there was talk and speculation about shooting for high warlord during school/college time blocks. Ie... pay attention to when school/college in the region is in session. Push hard during those times, but during spring/summer/winter break, ease off and just maintain your rank until schooling is back in session. because the added competition basically froze everyone that were not in the top 10 positions

I've been boarding the add-on train as well. So far I'm using QuestLogEx, Questie (yeah, I am not one of those people who hates modern WoW breadcrumbs), Z-Perl Unit Frames, Details! DPS Meter, DBM, TitanPanel, OmniCC, BetterVendorPrice.

I need to get a bars add-on. I guess the hot one right now for classic is Domino?

e: Nevermind. ElvUI has a classic version. I'll just use that for everything *dances*.

So it seems that the guild that beat MC has been playing on private servers for years and knew exactly how undertuned the raid was for modern players. They didn't wipe, apparently.

Knowing all the fights and mechanics helps a ton. Also the modified talent trees are an enormous DPS boost over the early 1.2 and 1.3 patches.

So what is layering and how are all these people abusing it? I don't get it.

By the way, anyone want an invite to the Horde guild on Fairbanks? Add me, Stragint#1390

so what layering does is it creates a new instance of a zone and dumps players into it in order to spread the population out and prevent overcrowding

you can transfer between different layers by being invited to a group in a different layer

so what they're doing is having people in different layers and bouncing between them to essentially have continuous AE kills without having to wait on respawns

which results in super fast xp leveling

    Allegedly a voice of reason.

It's Method I feel sorry for in all this. Travelling all the way to Las Vegas to win the world first race live on stream, and then this happens. So much lost revenue! If I had to wear those polyester t-shirts in that heat for no reason, I'd be annoyed.

True that. I ran around stabbing many mobs with the dagger to tag while casters wasted time casting. I felt bad, but....

I am intensely curious how y'like Classic as it progresses, Thawmus, as it's new to you. For any of the truly new, honestly.

I'm currently still where I was at after the stress test (extremely positive), but yeah, we'll see as time passes.

I'm playing a NE Hunter, but I've never done the NE zones before. Just finished all of the Teldrassil quests last night, so tonight it'll probably be a lot of fishing, cooking, mining (engineering), and questing in Darkshore.

Also that's maybe the last time I do Teldrassil, holy crap that's an awful zone.

Basically all of Kalimdor is pretty bad with the exception of, like, UnGoro and Winterspring.

Well because I never did it I am sticking to Kalimdor on my night elf rogue to level to 60 to see if I can
    The same goes with my warlock in the Eastern Kingdoms{ Seriously I always thought it was silly one continent was named the Eastern Kingdoms when Kalimdor was pretty much the wild unexplored lands in W3-Semi Vanilla}

They mentioned private server because those players had practiced there.

So how did they go about getting the rep for the runes? Did they actually get all the trash farmed that fast?

    Cool, thanks.

Onyxia is easier than Ragnaros, she's just a pain in the ass to key.

They said ony is actually harder than on private servers. And they wiped once on her but one shot all of MC. The kill was a close one too. They finished the last like 40% with 10 people and their main tank died at around 2%. They did only 34 or 35 man her though and only had 15-20 lvl 60s.

I would agree that ony is harder than most of MC

Ony has more mechanics then most bosses in MC. MC is like, 80% tank and spank.

MC has more mechanics that punish the raid because two doofuses couldn’t be assed to not spread the bomb

Cthun *was* beatable... if you were on Blizzards internal dev computers back then. I'm leaning on believing Cthun was impossible in its first iteration due to internet technology of that decade. DSL was the mainstay and if you happened to live in a metroplex with cable or had the cash to drop in a coveted T1/T3 connection, you were moving pretty fast in those days.

Hell, a lot of people were still on dial up even in mid-2000's. it wasn't until smartphones in '08 did you start seeing speeds pick up and become cheaper due to increased data demands.

Un'goro is fine. Certainly no worse than, like, Badlands or one of the other more forgettable EK zones.

And, yeah, Winterspring is kinda bad, but it's probably the second-best Kalimdor zone (behind Un'goro.)

C thun was not as hard as the twin emps or the slime
The problem was when I did it with my warlock they had taken a lot of melee dps it was just me 2 other locks and 3 mages so the other Emperor was a pain.
The Slime was a whole other story. After this and the whole drama [no where near the train wreck of a guild's drama} We beat C thun much to our puzzlement It just clicked right. It was so bizarre that everyone did what they were supposed to do
Then the server transfer came the next week and that part of Pug 2.0 died

By the time your guild got to Cthun, it was heavily nerfed. And you had some Naxx gear by then to boot.
