Hollow KNight on steam was awful for me, I would die and rage quite. But on the Switch it is a completely different game for me. I've almost completed it. The ability to just put the switch down and walk away is great and playing it anywhere is super helpful.
On the other hand, the has... uh... worse aerodynamics than a keyboard. Depending on how hard you rage quit.
What psycho is playing hollow knight with a keyboard?
Controllers are expensive, wife won't let me buy anymore. Keyboards can take a hit like a champ.
*mutters*she's the one that put the divot in the drywall with the wiimote over Mario Party bonus stars.
As someone who has beaten all the SNES era MegaManX games using a keyboard (it was bet i made with an old highschool buddy), it never once occurred to me to try HK with one.

Running with a new favorite and a couple old classics this time and a personal nostalgia-filled classic. Now with a surprise late entrant. And a surprise surprise nostalgia entry!
(Had to wait for SteamGifts to update to add in Wonderful 101)
All end at noon cst on May 28th. Open to any members of G&T Adventure steam group.
Mal is a lichenologist and former paintballer, so we have high hopes here... and for the delightful garden we look forward to having.
Karoz is a former security guard who eats too much but has proven to be pretty handy with a baseball bat, so far killing 37 zombies before we've even really settled in to our new home. A keeper!
And Pixie is just someone with good taste in colors, but also possessing a metric shitload of hit points (high pain tolerance), so that's useful.
Day 2 and we haven't found anybody new yet to join us. Pixie went on something of a crazy run far beyond our comfort zone to find a gun store and eventually came back with a truckload of guns, bullets, and the prize - a crossbow. Got bit a few times, but nothing life-threatening. Racked up 64 kills... mostly with the front end of a pickup truck.
Sent Mal out next to stock us up on basic supplies. Helped out a few neighbors. Got really damn good with the aforementioned crossbow and is now something of a shooting expert. Now has 26 kills, mostly stealth shots with a crossbow. Also, she found some super stylish new duds. Alas, she did get bit a few times too many when she got overloaded with supplies and couldn't outrun an unexpected horde of zeds. She'll be ok, but she needs some rest.
So it's still just 3 survivors on the Adventure Team. But morale is fantastic, we have tons of supplies of all sorts, and more weapons than we need. I think we're in a good place right now...
Speaking of Pixie and shooting, she's still my best sniper in my Battletech career run. She's been running a King Crab with a Gauss Rifle and an upgraded AC20, and she's been taking heads (or just straight up core shots) for a long time.
I had a base defense mission against a total of 4 enemy lances by the end (in waves). The final 3 killshots were all hers. Not quite in one round.
Played some more D:OS2 and I'm liking it a lot, I see why it's highly rated. It's basically if Pathfinder didn't have the slavish adherence to the tabletop rulebook to the point where it bordered into disrespecting the player's time and instead focused on the fun parts of CRPG gameplay. Being able to use a bed roll anywhere is great just by itself.
Played a bit of the starter island for a little while in classic difficulty with the standard 4-man party stuff for a while, and once I got the hang of the game I brought it down one notch to explorer and created a new game with Fane as Lone Wolf skeleton and it has been a lot of fun - challenging at times with just one character but not overbearing. Scoundrel+Warfare is kind of insanely synergistic, so much mobility you can just blitz around the field murderstabbing from target to target.
My only real issue is how the AI automagically always knows Fane is undead for the purposes of targeting him with offensive healing spells when the whole point of his schtick is that they aren't supposed to know he's undead. But at the same time they also still freely use poison on him even though it heals him.
Does anyone honestly actually want all the convoluted character sheet porn in games like Pathfinder in 2020? Its really bad in particular in that one.
I played Baldur's Gate and liked it, I love CRPGs but I would be lying if I said I understood how the actual mechanics work most of the time.
Divinity is really easy to get your head around which is why I think its turned out to be the crazy popular one out of the CRPG renaisance awhile back.
Also Wasteland 2. Fucking love that one.
Yes. In fact, I want more of it that’s even more slavishly devoted to tabletop rule sets because I want one that’s actually designed to be played in a turn-based fashion.
Pathfinder is SO MUCH BETTER with the turn-based mod and the sequel will have it built-in. I have high hopes.

If you want numbers on numbers I can recommend the srpg Troubleshooter
It's Anime Xcom (made in SK)
It features:
- Unique characters
- Diablo style loot (colored, affix, suffix)
- Character levels
- job levels
- slot table active skills
- A Mastery system where you loot your passive skills and craft better ones out of basic skills. You end up slotting 20 skills out of a possible 350, different for each char. Each char has Mastery Combos too.
- item crafting
- a map of the city where you derive bonuses if you have segments at 100%, and you can tune those bonuses.
Now the translation is not good. I found it charming but it could be a real turnoff. I am not super far but so far it is quite pro cop/vigilante to the point of making me 'oh boy's a few times.
But I have been having a good time with it.
It released in the same fortnight as XCops and Gears Tactics so it didnt see a lot of attention.

Definitely on my wishlist. I've heard good things.
Disco Elysium has conflicts, some of them between armed parties, but there's no "combat" in terms of game mechanics. Like everything else in the game, the resolution to those conflicts are determined by skill rolls.

The Escapists 2 (#4)
I really like this game. Ive been wanting to try it forever so when Dewey suggested it and I went for it. In most open world games Ive played you play a character that can do anything they want without consequence, so turning that formula on its ear and being forced to adhere to a role/schedule while finding a way to subvert the system and escape is pretty brilliant. So far Ive only beaten the tutorial level and the next level up but there are harder difficulties to try and each stage says it has multiple ways to escape. Then there is the online multiplayer when I feel like dipping a toe. I will definitely be playing more of this one.
Shovel Knight Treasure Trove: King of Cards (#5)
This is easily the hardest one of the 4. But Ive also finished all 4 games (plus one run of the multiplayer fighting game, showdown). Not much to say except picking this one up for 10 dollers on a whim during a sale paid off. I also replayed Shovel of Hope last year and its a still fun game to come back to.

Neither, it's crepes.
Also, one of the images on the DLC's store page is very clever. It's a random screenshot from the "writer's notes" document, out of focus and with the words WRITER'S NOTES overlayed above the writing so you can't see any of it. The word sodomy, however, is both in perfect focus and fully unobscured.

Pixie, called upon the dark arts and cursed the land with jagged shards of rock, that sprouted from beneath the ground. Tainting everything in their path.
Mugsley consulted the ancient records about this Pixie creature and devised a plan. It had a weakness for playing games. So he created a game to distract her. In truth it was barely long enough to keep her occupied for 10 minutes, however, it had the most elaborate customization options imaginable.
She remains trapped there to this day, yet content; creating variation after variation. Over time it became tradition to appease the Pixie with gifts of games, lest she ever finish her backlog and re-emerge to curse the land again.

We also just recruited @Rubycat into the gang, and he comes to us as a skilled mechanic. Useful! We'll let him stay a while.
What we lack right now is a medic. We did find a textbook on medicine, however, so if we can't recruit a doc soon, Karoz may have to do some studying up and become our medic. >.>
