Eh, I was on the Illuminati's side for the most part. The Hulk did not get my sympathy by targeting New York City and taking it over like a warlord with his own gladiator pits. I expect that from Doom or The Leader, not a hero.

World War Hulk was always going to end that way. Because they sent him into space because he might destroy a city randomly, and then he came back to earth, and the first thing he did was destroy a city.

I just read the first two trades of Chew. Hot damn.

Also while I was picking them up, I came upon some other things that I opted not to buy. So, opinions on:

    Joe the Barbarian?
    New 52 Animal Man?
    This Court of Owls business?

Snyder's Batman is great, and it's where the Court of Owls come from

New 52 Animal Man is also great!

    You should get them both

Joe the Barbarian is pretty good, not Morrison's best but still a good read

Animal Man is pretty great, as is its sister title Swamp Thing

the Court of Owls story in the main Batman title is awesome, Snyder does great work on both Batman and Swamp Thing

Batman and Robin is also good

Seriously read all of Chew. It's up to 5 volumes now and they still retail at only $12.99.

Never read JtB but I've heard great things, same for New 52 Animal Man, and definitely read the main Batman series by Scott Snyder but I don't know about the other Bat family books.

Batman is stuck in a barn with a several owls. They don't like how he chose the bat to be his symbolic animal to frighten criminal. They try to drive him insane by hooting for hours.

Alright. Are they gonna do a softcover release of Snyder's Batman stuff? I tend to prefer my trades softcover (also they're cheaper) so that was the primary reason I didn't jump on that.

You'll probably have to wait till near the end of the year for softcovers. DC is terrible at that for some reason. Even the stories that are going straight to trade format like Swamp Thing are taking forever to come out.

They were probably cutting the legal rights close just by using the name, the likeness would have been too much.
