    Yep, it was pretty cool.

Star Trek VI was my favourite before the reboot.

The new one is easily better than all the previous films combined.

Yeah. It's a phenomenon that shows up throughout all of human history. Almost everywhere we have found significant amounts of writing that we can translate, there has been something lamenting the loss of something from an earlier time or bitching about how the new generation isn't as good because they didn't have to do what we did, etc.

Things were better back when men were men, and women were women, and ducks were ducks

Now you've got men-women and duck-men and women-ducks running rampant, making a mockery of the values that my ancestors fought for

theoretically, I mean, my ancestors were mostly smart enough to work in industries that protected them from military service

    But my point stands!

I like to explain people pining for the old days via pop music.

You hear every song now. You only hear the classics from before. So old music seems to have had less shit. It didn't.

No reason to come at you, really.

Just that I don't think that Star Trek Into Reboot is better than ALL the films combined. Certainly all of the TNG films, and most of the TOS ones. But II? IV? VI? No way.

I enjoyed most of the Star Trek films, but my measure of how much I like a film is how often can I watch it. I have 0 interest in watching most of the original films a second time. I would like to see VI again, and probably would watch II again, but I've seen the new Star Trek like 6 or 8 times and love it every time.

    What?

It's 100% natural lemon and lime flavor.

And 100% natural 3000x your recommended daily value of sugar.

Same. I loved the new film but don't have the patience to do what it takes to actually become a Trekkie. I would like that title. Maybe I'll print myself a certificate and no one will know the difference.

By focusing all our attention on just a single curriculum that curriculum will become very good and everyone will benefit.

Therefore, all students shall attend 12th grade classes starting in Kindergarten and continuing on until they graduate high school.

It's Diet 7UP, so I guess it uses some "natural" 0-cal fake sugar. Not exactly sure how that works, though.

I like that video taken from a meeting at some city council where the public was allowed to make arguments about gay marriage

and one dude got up and started spouting some typical fundie garbage about destruction of society, etc, until he slipped and said "removing racial segregation" instead of gay marriage

and he got confused, then said something about how his notes had gotten mixed up, and that all the things he had been saying were direct quotes from white preachers and politicians about how everything would collapse if we removed segregation, just switching the topic from that to gay marriage

It was pretty cool, and I would re-find it if I wasn't on my phone
