Just went through the Plate Up series with my wife again. It's so funny and frustrating at the same time. One of the best!

I'm watching the Krampus playthrough again and it's fascinating they think the fuse box is outside. I've never once seen a fuse box outside lol.

Absolutely apropos of nothing: I have two fuse boxes, one outside and one inside. The outside one contains the fuses for: the main power to the breaker box inside, the a/c unit, and two random plugs in the main bathroom.

So I mean, it's not unheard of... :p

"Let's take a look at the scores! The girls are at the square root of Pi, while the boys are still at a crudely drawn picture of a duck. Clearly, it's anybody's game!"

That's so bizarre! Feels weird to have access to the power outside of the house. Animals and weather could cause issues. Also kids or neferious adults. But I consider myself learned on this topic now. Every house I've been in has had it in the laundry room.

Honestly, it's a different situation, but it FEELS as Grump Core as the Fan created ROM for more Kirby's Dream Course levels.

I was wondering when the grumps were going to play Exit 8. As soon I saw other YouTubers play it (months ago) I knew it would be a good grumps game.

Somewhat off-topic but my favorites of Tom Cardy's, to get you started:

And what might be his magnum opus to date (though I'm posting this having not watched the collab with NSP)

Anyway, taking off from Dance Till You Stop...the new album appears to be their attempt at different genres, or at least pastiches. Galaxy Hamster and Dance Till You Stop might not seem odd, being genres they've done before, but then there's Nut Heat, which is a doo-wop song. Let's Save The Earth is a pretty transparent attempt to mimic not just the content but the form of 80s and 90s "cause" songs. Dig Ol' Bick feels like CCR. Sports Anthem is pretty self-explanatory. And to my delight Death Metal is not.

Ehh. I saw that the comments ripped into him for it as well, but I have some sympathy for them. The basic gameplay reminds me way too much of my real-life job, which would have stressed me out too when playing it. And they obviously should have read the notes more carefully, but I think they assumed there was some sort of hidden timer. After all, they just were playing Papers, Please, which absolutely punishes you for taking too long for each character. And, again, in real life, leaving someone on hold for too long feels AWFUL.

Power Ranger video is a little unwatchable to me. I think the audio is screwed up on it too and there's this humming sound that constantly goes while the game is playing.

It’s a very old game and the recording quality isn’t great. Either it’s something inherent to the Sega-CD emulation they are using, the recording of the video for the game, their recording, or something in YouTube.

I’m sorry to hear it got to you like that. I was mainly able to tune it out after a bit - which I’m glad I did because Dan’s excitement at seeing the Power Rangers for the first time and the jokes made it well worth watching. Looks like this will also be continued in a future episode.

Unfortunately humming is one of my misophonia triggers so if it keeps up I will have to pass. It's a shame because it sounds like it would be a fun mix of hilarity and nostalgia.

Christina talking to Danny and Arin like they're five year olds the entire time really sells the episode for me lol.

They literally sailed past BEES like 4 times looking for what could cause a pollen sneezing attack

Then picked Bed Teeth despite the description they were currently reading saying nothing about Bed Teeth causing damage

It almost felt intentional, and I dunno at that point it was just irritating, because then Arin would go on one of his annoying tirades as opposed to a funny one and I'd just be sitting here cringing. The Papers Please was all understandable and they made it enjoyable throughout, imho. This was just bad.

You know I realized that half of the fun of the Zelda CDi games were because they were so bad at being an actual Zelda game in the Zelda universe. That and the controller. This game isn't as fun for me because it's like they were trying to get there but it's not hitting the mark.

It's like movies that are bad but when the director thinks they're making a good movie then it's 10x more fun. Whereas Asylum movies suck and aren't fun to watch because they are trying to be bad. Does that make sense?

I know exactly what you mean. And it's the same feelings I have.

Something tells me you'd enjoy the doc "Best Worst Movie"

But Arzette is actually a fairly good game to play. The only thing they emulate is the silly animations. But they, imo, nail the "entertainingly bad" vibe those games had. They aren't trying to be bad. They are actually good. They just have a... very specific art style.

Right that somehow makes it worse for me. Half the fun (for me) was how bad everything was about the game. Cutscenes and gameplay and controls.

You have a point, as Game Grumps videos, the ones on the bad games are leagues better. And as a game, Arzette seems at a mid-point between "decently fun platformer" and "bad in ways that were not necessary, except for the homage." I still think the cutscenes have some funny stuff going on in them, that's keep me going on these episodes.
