The Surge 2 is one of my absolute favourite souls-likes (and as a sequel a strong contender for the Most Improved award), so I'm immediately interested in anything they have to offer.
I agree, Surge 2 is one of the most underappreciated games of last few years, and is pretty much the best soulslike game not made by FromSoft (other than Wo Long).

Honestly, if you are asking for 10,000 different characters to “own”, the only way to do that in any real practical way is with templates. I don’t think the employees were making them shitty on purpose. I think they did what they had to to get the game out the door.

You create some templates, and toss clip art at it. The real fancy ones have the faces broken up into modular parts.
It's just three belts, but they can be put on multiple times at different angles.
