If you don't revive him then something animates his corpse and tells you that you really need to revive him within three days or bad thing will happen.

If you ignore that warning then three days later his corpse will teleport into your camp and the world ends. Game Over.

He left a magic voicemail that tells you how to get the scroll of true resurrection he hid. I just took a screenshot of it because I tried it and happened to be in wild shape.

I enjoy that if you have a companion wild shaped in dialogue they react to, you can get fun pop ups like "Cave Bear Approves".

    Ambient companion exploration dialogue.

Wyll is trying to hit on Laz and it is just not going well

In between the Dire Warning and the 3 Day Timer there's a period where his corpse radiates a field that does massive necrotic damage

So you can leave his body in a remote corner of camp, leave Karlach in your party but ungrouped and standing in camp

Before combat, stop in camp for a sec to set a return point, then when you're ready to party you have Karlach chug a potion of necrotic resistance, grab the corpse, leave camp, join combat, and hurl the dead Gale into a pack of bad guys.

Dropping a black hole on the corpse to make sure all the bad guys get to party with it is optional

You can rez and then re-murder Gale every couple days to reset the nuke timer while keeping him useful as a grenade

If I was truly a monster, I'd point out that you can also weaponize the corpse of a young girl in the same fashion.

It's tricky to deploy them both at the same time, though.

I mean, I imagine it would be tricky to deploy them both at the same time. Also evil and wrong.

I mean, if you have Karlach specced for Berserker, you could throw Gale as a normal Throw action, and the other body as the Frenzied Throw bonus action on the same turn

But I am sure there are better things to throw as your bonus action. Like a living enemy, off a cliff.

It's not the action economy, it's the massive damage per second from carrying two cursed corpses with necrotic auras into position.

    Quick Act 3 question
Is there a time limit on rescuing the party member that Orin has kidnapped? Or is it just an element of that quest for whenever I get to it?

Not that I've seen. I didn't particularly care about them and took at least 20 or so hours and several major main story quests before I did it, and there was no issue.

Ok, I can't find anything to disprove this theory, so imma go with it. Spoilers for an Act 3 sidequest.
So I found and recruited Minsc. He had been tadpoled and was working with a shapeshifter who had assumed Jaheira's appearance. Oddly, the shapeshifter had facial markings almost identical to clown makeup. After wrapping up some other stuff, I headed in for a long rest only to find Minsc and Jaheira arguing. Jaheria was refusing to do something and told Minsc she was not his holy person (I forget the exact term used) and she certainly wasn't going to be anointed with "paints and oils."

The theory is thus. Despite being tadpoled, Minsc still held "Jaheria" in high regard and the shapeshift either couldn't come up with a good excuse or was down with what Minsc wanted, which was to paint her face.

    Ah nevermind.

I was wondering why the massive burst damage build is gloomstalker 5, fighter 2, rogue 5.
its cos you need 5 levels in rogue for 3d6 sneak attack.

You can get two, as long as they're from different classes.

The combo I've seen/used was Gloom 5, thief 4, champion 3, but going to thief 5 and Fighter 2 may well be better, especially if you're running risky ring.

Either way it's a totally nonsense build that's very silly in its results

I just had to do something super Rangery and it was as rad as an actual DnD play session.
I had to sneak back into the temple of Selune. Everyone inside that temple is dead, but all the gobbos in the courtyard are very alive and very mad at me.

So I snuck around the side where you jump over, made my way around, used my ranger to gloomstalker the only gobbo that blocked our path, then snuck all the way around the outside, up the top, and over to the top entrance, which I had already killed my way through the first time.

Felt very mission impossible. Did it all in turn based mode for full control.

    And now I'm back inside.

When the song started up I thought "awesome, this boss fight gets its own song, that's cool"

And then Raphael started singing. That may have been the highlight of the game for me.

The fight itself is also maybe the a) most fun and b) most concerning amount of danger in the game so far

There were several times that I seriously considered that I might have Fucked Up and picked a fight I wasn't going to win
Highlight: I didn't bother examining Raphael at first. I just figured 'he's a devil. Fire resistant, probably not resistant to radiant'

And I black holed everyone together then had Shart drop a gigantic radiant aspected upcast Destructive Wave on everyone.

    And she fucking EXPLODED.

I tromped all over Selunes temple raising dead everyone I killed to find out how to get to the underdark, then finally found it.

Do note that after a certain point the game presents it as an either or choice - Go Through the <spoiler> or go over the mountain pass. This is false, you can and should do both, as they're packed with good content.

Generalyl the intended path is to go Emerald Grove -> Blighted Village -> Risen Road/Swamp/Goblins/ -> Goblin Finale -> Splitsville -> Act 2
