Yea, I'm well aware of that. Loketests can only really take them so far. I'm just surprised that Capcom hasn't figure that out on its own at this point.
Problem is that Capcom made most of their fans jaded when they put in 40+ characters in MvsC2...and now these same fans continue to think that all of their fighting games should use a similar or more number. :P

Lucky for me I always liked the huge numbers in MvC2.
I would slap down $80 if the thought of Nintendo auto updating my system and locking out the means by which I play the game didn't scare the heck out of me.
It's still to early, man. My friends are telling me that Morrigan is too good because her keep-away is godlike. I still haven't unlocked the other four characters, though. Fuck Japanese menus in a Japanese game. What were they thinking?
I played this a bit yesterday with my brother. I was mostly confused at the game mechanics and didn't get much time to play so it's hard to make a valid opinion yet. Pulling off moves with a gamecube controller is difficult. This has to be one of the worst controllers for games like street fighter.
Also, I had no idea my parents had upgraded to an HDTV and my brother only brought composite cables so Wii games look like ass on the tv

Weeeeell... for starters, she has an infinite, she has one of the most powerful level 3 supers in the game as far as I can tell, and she has a ridiculously powerful air combo that grounds slams at the end. You're right that it's too early to be calling the shots, but those are just initial impressions.
A random thing about Chun that I noticed is that her standing heavy is awesome for basically everything. It seems to stuff a lot of air-to-ground moves with the right spacing and also from a range out-prioritizes other ground moves fairly consistently.
Chun and Morrigan is actually the team I end up using most often, next to Team Rock and Roll.
In terms of gamepads, I weirdly enough prefer the cube controller to the classic controller; the button layout is much more friendly I find (mapping B to light, A to medium, X to heavy and Y to assist). I hold the controller in my lap and position the right hand basically like you would on an arcade stick, hovering the hand above the buttons.
well if you guys have money to burn and don't want to give it to me (dicks), there's always the hori stick.
Does this game have online play? I'm gonna guess no.
It's a shame too since SSF2THDR was just released and has great online. I wonder if it was a nintendo issue or they just didn't feel like it. Anyway I really wish developers would start putting the pressure on nintendo so that they get a good online thing going. You can't really rely on the consumer since we're sheep and buy any console with Zelda on it.

You just know Morrigan's thinking "bitch, that hand better get out of my face unless you want it coming home with me."
Capcom says they're "still trying to get creative," but can't say anything more.

By the way, I still can't get over Roll's broom.
I wish this had a better chance of making it overseas--it's looking like another quality VS title, at least from the videos posted.
My urge to import this game has just increased, BTW. Looks hella fun.

It has a lot to do with who they get to test the game.
They should take a page out of Aksys's book and hire people like Alex Valle like they did with BB.

Also, yes, the cube pad is horrible. It has me using the analog stick for Christ's sake.

It's a combo breaker/burst move. Just hit all four buttons to activate it. It uses up a bar, though.
Edit: Sorry. Uses up two bars.
Why don't you just use the d-pad? It's really not as bad as it looks.
