I’m drawing Edgar and Sabin from FF6. I want to go back in time and show my kid-self this picture because I couldn’t draw back when I played this game. And look at how pretty these men are!

Gonna smash out 150 monsters to fulfil a childhood need to make 150 monsters. At the minute I’m trying to figure out a style. I don’t want to replicate the clean anime style used by Pokémon and Digimon, I want something more homely. I’m thinking no black outline looks fresh. Possibly not more than 3 colours on average, maybe 2 when I can help it. I like chunky looking guys, without too many fiddly bits.

decided to dip my toes into the whole drawing thing after really getting into mini printing so got an sole pencil and made my first doodle in probably over two decades.
The whole ipad/pencil combo is a slick bit of kit.

Progression was, "Huh, I've been tracing this cross shape repeatedly for a bit. I should actually see what it looks like drawn for real."
"Huh. It works, but looks kinda empty. Needs a rondel."
"Okay, but now the corners need something."
"Kinda left a gap there. I should draw a lozenge to fill it in a bit ..."
"Now the arms look empty. Fill 'em in."
