It's not an ultra-classified military grade secret or anything, but yeah, we'd rather folks just not hammer the new site just yet until we're ready to open the doors, that's all. But don't worry, if anything catastrophic were to befall the PA Forums with no warning, we'd make sure the new forum info was posted across all available channels. Various discord servers, our social media accounts (twitter, bluesky), Kofi, Patreon, etc.
Is there a single place where this stuff is collected? I've seen links to some of these things in various places. But for the casual lurker it's not that easy to find.
We smashed all our fundraiser goals, and in doing that we unlocked the all-mighty power to choose the name of the Administration Corner, the Forum header that will have sub-forums dedicated to, well, whatever forum admin needs to happen.
The fundraise thread already had a nice collection of suggestions, but here is your chance to add to them:

The Horse House
The Crash Register
The Drunk Tank

Arcade Coupon Exchange
The Change Machine

If you have a great name, Just put it in this thread, and I'll add it to vote roll.
Then on sunday, I'll open a Vanilla poll in the Transition forums, that I'll run for... euhm... 2 weeks? Sounds about right.
So, Let the names roll in!

Vanilla polls are limited to ten options, so we might want to use a different service for that

It's true that it seems a bit double that this one gets a whole seperate poll just for itself, but the fundraiser and the stretch-goals were done way in advance of the restructure thread.
And we earned the rights to this poll, with cold. hard. cash!

Ticket Counter is good and covers the variety of things the subforum will be for, as opposed to something like Crash Register which would imply it's only for bugs

I have a question about something on the new forums that I have to imagine came up in discussion and I'm hoping that someone who has been more involved can answer:
Well I guess two.
Will there be ignore lists?
And if so, will having someone on ignore also hide their quotes in a post?
It doesn't here, and it'd be nice if by default if someone was on your ignore list their quote would be "closed". If that's even possible. It just kinda sucks a bit to ignore someone for your mental health, just to see their post immediately when someone else is responding to them.
I'm not trying to create a debate or anything, I'm sure there's reasons someone would find this to be a bad idea, and I'm not interested in having an argument about it. I'm just curious how it'll work.
So with Board elections starting Monday and running for a week, and then the Board has to appoint Executive Officers, and then Mods...
... should we expect existing Mods will be porting over as-is for now? Or will the TT be modding? Or somewhere in between?
The plan, as far as I know, is to have the existing mods (or at least those of us who volunteer to do so) port over to the new forums
It might be a bit rocky, and theoretically we'll have to be moderating two places at once and we won't have our previous subforum assignments or whatever
So just try and not talk about Star Wars while we get everything sorted out

Crossposting from the nomination thread:
Let me try to rapid fire some q&a here…
Does CoRe still open on April 1st?
Yes.
Who moderates CoRe before we pick our mods?
Several of the existing PA mods have agreed to act as interim mods for the first few weeks before our new mod team is finalized.
What’s the board election timeline look like?
Board election goes live Monday AM (EDT) March 31st and runs for 7 days (all public elections/votes will run for 7 days unless otherwise altered by Board decision)
Board election wraps up the following Monday AM (April 7th). I’ll do my best to not keep you all waiting long and should have the results posted very shortly after the close of voting. And because of our tight timeline we’ll basically consider the new board inaugurated the following morning — I’ll just need a little time to ensure forum permissions are set for their accounts, collect contact info, do a little general onboarding, etc.
What about appointing Executive Officers?
First time we’re doing all this, so it’s hard to say for sure. We’re doing this live, after all. My hope is that after a day or two to get onboarded, the board can make their Executive Officer selections pretty quickly. Within a day or so is my hope. We don’t have a prescribed method for this, and at least this first time we’re feel like it’s better to let the board feel out the best method for them. With 5-7 people on the board, and a relatively small list of EO candidates, I’d like to think consensus can generally be achieved via informal discussion, but if not then we can always hold a quick formal poll. Most of the timeline here will depend on how available the board members are, and how generally agreeable they are on the EO candidates. Hard to predict either in advance, as you can imagine.
What about Moderator selection?
Assuming the board can get the EOs all chosen within a couple days, that puts us near the end of the week (around April 11th) when they start deciding on mods. This is even tougher to predict how smoothly it’ll go. 11 spots to fill, and at last count we had something like triple that number of candidates.
I don’t know if the board will take 1 day or 7 to pin down their choices. I’d encourage them to not take longer than a week, due to our time crunch. In any case, as soon as they decide, the mods go up for a 7 day ratification vote. My worst case scenario is that this starts on April 18th and ends on April 25th, but if the board moves quickly it could be sooner. Ratified mods would get rushed directly into service and we’d handle onboarding/orientation on the fly.
What’s expected of Board Member applicants?
The most important thing is to be available. If you win a seat, we are going to need to move quickly. Try to be available for the next couple of weeks for the EO and Moderator selection process. You don’t need to be on call 24/7, but ideally you should be available periodically most days during this initial periods
What is the election week going to look like?
You’ll be voting on an offsite election service. For most of our prior community votes, we’ve done things fairly low tech and simple which has been fine, but we’ll need something a bit better suited to our most important election, especially given the complexity of nearly 20 people running for 5 seats.
Candidates will be announced here on the forums along with their prepared statements on Monday when the poll opens. To be perfectly honest with you, we’re not 100% sure how the “campaigning” and candidate Q&A process will look, exactly. Some ideas have been tossed around about how to structure it and keep it from being a total clusterfuck, but no final decisions have been made yet. I hope we can all treat each other decently during the process, but I’m a realist — it’s going to get heated from time to time given the nature of this whole thing. I want everyone to remember to take a breath and try to cool off if you feel the temperature rising. We can make it through this process and hopefully be a stronger community for the struggle.
—————————————-
Let me know if you have any questions not covered. I’ll do my best to answer what I can and I’ll tell you if I just don’t know. Just remember, it’s okay to learn by doing, and however this shakes out, our second Board election will almost certainly look different from this one, thanks to the benefit of experience.
Hell, New Jersey, it said on the letter. Delivered without comment. So be it!

I assume that the people involved in getting all of this done will see this so i want to once again thank all of you. Every single thread about this entire process has turned into a fucking raging dumpster fire almost immediately and all of you have acted with a level of professionalism nothing short of Herculean. The time and effort to ensure that we still have a place to call home is very touching.

Doing the Switch 2 direct on April 1st instead of the 2nd would be absolutely diabolical work from Nintendo.

Good point. I've gone ahead and added a link list of all of the places you can find Coin Return info on various social media services to the bottom of the main Timeline post here: https://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/252904/coin-return-a-progress-bar-and-timeline/
