As long as old threads use the new format(worded threads instead of numbers) and the forums aren't locked or gone(like chatlog and archive, though hopefully just mod-only), they still seem to be readable, based on my perusing with the internet archive.
Some of the threads still work, some said they weren't archived, so who knows what the rhyme and reason is. The few I was able to view were mostly graveyards of broken images, anyway.
What's that? Somehow turned a videogame webcomic forum into an actual community while keeping out gg/protorightwing chuds during their rise that occurred largely on online gaming related spaces?

Sure but in a context of discussing ancient forum past there are gonna be folks who had negative personal interactions with the dude and don't really owe him any personal-level grace
20 years is a long time and some folks have relationships messier than Holiday Forum hagiography might allow, he doesn't post here anymore, maybe the harm isn't especially great in a tossed off aside here or there
I think insulting someone is generally a pretty harmful thing to do.
I don't think a vague "dude sucks" said somewhere I can't read it does me any harm at all

I also have this stupid username, because I won it in a name change thread coin flip, publicly hoping that I'd lose and Tube would have to come up with something obnoxious for me, but instead here I am.
I do wish I'd archived all of our Bad Predictions seasons in some better way, we had some good times.
The worst part of my forum name being changed when I was drunk and joking about my name with tube is that now I have to remember how to spell Tallahassee
I don't remember why the first letter of my name name is lowercase. Was it a forum migration at some point changed all the names to lowercase or something?
I thought about asking in the various threads that would pop up once in a while to have it fixed, but I knew I would lose and Tube would change it to ExpEndablE or replace the Es with 3s or something and that would be worse, so I never did.
The pinch in my brain is not nearly as bad now as it used to be at least.

Tube was self-admittedly a dick. He said he was a dick many times. In his big rules post, he said "I'm a dick." I feel like saying "Tube was kind of a dickhead at times" is not exactly controversial.

Honestly though, in terms of assigning value to your opinions... you are all internet people. That means you're not real. The entire point of your existence is to benefit me with knowledge or entertainment. You dance around for me, or you show me things, or you answer my questions until I am satisfied. Then, I close a tab and you all disappear. You no longer exist. You are formless, trapped in limbo until such time as I decide to summon you again.

We didn't have an infraction system yet, we had jail or ban and thats it. Deputies could jail but not ban.
