Between new Tonikawa and starting The Galaxy Next Door, I'm spoiled for choices on the "I have a cute wife (who is also a goddess but that's not important)" slice of life
Even just "having a wife" is rare enough, but that seems to becoming more of a thing, with Hell's Paradise and Way of the Househusband having married main characters.
In the Tonikawa case I think it's because he's been drawing manga for 20 years. His early work was younger unmarried characters, but now he's older and married, so he draws that more easily. Write what you know, and all that.
The horrible secret of the Not-Godzilla suit is pretty darn horrible. Can't wait to see the hell Vamola has to go through to steal one and make her way to Earth from wherever these "Sumerians" are at.
I wish the How To Fight guy would come up with a plot that isn't "here's _yet another_ new gang for our heroes to fight", because, sheesh, the cast is already plenty big enough without even more never-seen-before tough folks just sort of showing up out of the blue.
He handed off the comic to another team in the second season.
Not that he's any better with Lookism, but yeah. I still read How to Fight, but it's gotten horrifically uninteresting.
maybe I'm just projecting my own social anxiety onto others where the only way I could ever start a romantic relationship is with someone I am around a lot, not hitting it off with a relative stranger at a party
Ohhhhh sheeeee- we're about to learn some science about the effects of the Hourai elixir! Fuck yes let's gooooooo!
Also, I 100% get why Tsukasa says she's 1400 times 16 years old. She never displayed the stable maturity of someone in their 30s-40s-etc. I'm thinking "allowing Tsukasa to live, grow, and die as a human being" is the real goal her friends were/are trying to accomplish. I'm just imagining if Nasa fails, and Tsukasa has to watch her beloved husband grow old and die right in front of her like all her previous close ones while she remains 16 forever.
This does a lot to disarm the "I look 16, but I've been around for 1400 years" trope Tsukasa is borrowing.
I think this was one of the most "I did not see the direction this was going to go" stories I've read in a fair while, especially because it is just a fairly normal romcom for an awfully long time.
I cannot believe that the OS name hint was there the entire time.
That one was one I was kicking myself over too
Io9 also has an article up about the recent episode too, which feels unusual for a Gundam series to accomplish that, so yeah, WfM got big in popularity.
Spoilers within, obviously

There were a ton of hints in the beginning, but the payoff was great.
Tonikaku Kawaii and Call of the Night are both big on the "how it started / how it's going" scale when it comes to just shifting genres many chapters in.
Though they also shift back and forth with the original genre as it goes on.

Hell's Paradise Ep3: well, getting right to the culling, good lord.
The horrible secret of the Not-Godzilla suit is pretty darn horrible. Can't wait to see the hell Vamola has to go through to steal one and make her way to Earth from wherever these "Sumerians" are at.
With the Godzilla suit being pretty important to Vamola's flashback, and with everyone else basically having their own power ups, this feels like Vamola is kiiiinda safe and will get healed eventually, joing the cast after? Still not a guarantee, though.
That's an impressively horrifying splash page of Big Mama and the Sumerians. Like... Damn.
I thought it was a good time, right before this character (and two further variations) showed up in the second half of Otaku no Video. Along with our nemesis, Anno himself.
Tsu fully ribbits commits to the bit, and it's great.

I'm still catching up on last season's shows. I binged The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and Genius Young Lady this past weekend.
It was a bit of a slow burn, but the ending was extremely satisfying and overall I'd say it was Worth Watching. I'd probably put it ahead of Hero-king reincarnated as the strongest squire.

Last night at AniMenagerie we finished the second OVA series for Dirty Pair.
so I caught up on birdie wing, spoilers through ep 15
this feels like a weird direction for the show to go in? aoi suddenly just can't golf because of mysterious golfers disease, also eve and aoi are possibly related (assuming they don't pull another fake out with aoi being amuro's kid instead or something)
honestly, my only complaint about the show so far is how little time they spent on the finals round. they spent a lot of time building up those opponent golfers and then... aoi and eve just stomped all over them. I get the show is eager to get on to other things, but, eh.
anyways, just waiting for the golf mafia to show up again over here

I just want to say that I fucking called it.
Because it turns out that Aerial's secret sauce is just a new version of EXAM.
What's the problem with gunsmith cats, for context? Haven't seen more than the first or second episode where I vaguely recall a warehouse shootout styled after 80s action films

Spoiled for You Know The Drill.
One of the main characters is a former child prostitute who had her growth artificially arrested to have her retain a younger appearance, who is romantically involved with someone who is heavily implied to be a former john of hers.

I think it's telling they usually marry people in the industry as well

This is the new one from the baccano guy right?

I'm "kupiyupaekio" on Discord.
Hmm that would make sense given all the tragic but wacky killers
This show is dope!
Tsu is the best, ribbit
The opening song is a banger
10/10, no notes
Oh don't worry, basically nobody's getting married in Japan these days anyways.
It was a bit of a slow burn, but the ending was extremely satisfying and overall I'd say it was Worth Watching. I'd probably put it ahead of Hero-king reincarnated as the strongest squire.
Perfect, amazing, no notes, we all loved it.
still good after all these years
Looking forward to the whole franchise coming out on Blu-Ray later this year.

I do not think Gunsmith Cats is as good as Dirty Pair, so this seems a disservice on my part.

Its funny because Cats is way more problematic than the Dirty Pair
I just want to say that I fucking called it.
Gunsmith Cats was definitely the first anime where I went "This probably shouldn't be allowed."
Spoiled for You Know The Drill.
Yeah.
Never been to a move theater that served caramel popcorn before. Maybe it's for the best, it must do a number on your blood sugar.
This arc is pretty meh in the scheme of things, though there are still a few cool moments.
I imagine ufotable will continue to elevate the source material.
Huh yeah never got to this part
Christ, I forgot about that particular tidbit.
